Hi All,
I am just a new qualified member I have been working in accounts for 3-5 years.
Please help anyone I am not sure how the process of CPD works is there any free webinars you can watch that will count towards your CPD points end of yr.
Also do you have to only attend paid sessions to gain CPD points.
I will be grateful if someone can explain in simple terms how it works.
Thank you
April 24, 2018 at 9:10 am #448636Hello,
I know this is old but ran across this in my own search and thought i’d add what i have found out.
It seems to be that ANY training can count, as long as it builds your career. This seems a bit suspect (I will be checking), but if true very welcome.
It sounds like if I did a software course that would help me progress my career, that would count, or if i did some management training in hopes to move up that would also count. But I also need to keep up on finance to a degree, but in a relevant way. What doesn’t seem to count is doing training for the sake of training, like me doing a tax course even though I’m not a tax accountant and don’t plan on being one.

April 24, 2018 at 11:29 am #448643You will find lots of information here https://www.accaglobal.com/uk/en/member/cpd/resources.html
There are so many free resources that can contribute to CPD that you don’t need to pay to meet the CPD requirements – https://www.accaglobal.com/uk/en/member/cpd/offers/free-cpd.html
On this page you will find a link to register for webinars https://www.accaglobal.com/uk/en/member/cpd/offers/cpd-skills-webinars.html each hour is worth 1 verifiable CPD unit (21 of the 40 units need to be verifiable) – if you can’t attend webinars live you can access them after the event.
You can sign up to the member’s AB magazine where you will find articles that will contribute to non-verifiable CPD https://www.accaglobal.com/uk/en/member/ab/cpd-ab.html
I think the most valuable tip I have for you is to use the COD recording tool https://www.accaglobal.com/uk/en/member/cpd/evidence.html (you need to login to my ACCA). I was very relieved when in December 2016 I was asked to provide my CPD records for 2015 that I could simply give ACCA permission to review my online records. - AuthorPosts
