    Hello Kim,

I have a BPP Audit and Assurance study text from 1st September 2015 to 31st August 2016. Can I use it to study for the December 2018 session and what updates should I brush up on?

The exam format changed w.e.f. September 2016. I suggest you use the OpenTuition notes and lectures to remind yourself of the main syllabus areas but you should equip yourself with an up-to-date Approved Revision Kit/Question Bank to make sure that you are practicing exam style and standard questions. In particular you should note that on the topic of internal controls, the exam now tends to ask for deficiency/recommendation/test of control rather than weakness/effect/recommendation.

My practice and revision kit is up to date. The only material that is till/for 2016 is the study text.

Then you should be ok. If you look on the last page of the Syllabus and Study Guide for 2018-19 as published by ACCA you will see that the amendments were the nature of clarifications rather than additions. (The same could be said for 2017-18.)
