    48. Gutted. It’s a shame when you know your stuff but the exam is so time pressured you can’t get down everything you want to.

    @proff2251

    Get a question bank from an approved tuition provider. Go through it all and make notes in your own words. Then attempt the questions and use your notes where needed. Then redo the questions without your notes but do questions from random topics in a day so you are not only practicing the ones you are confident in.

    Make sure you are confident with:
    Income tax
    Loss reliefs – individual and company
    Inheritance tax
    Capital gains tax
    Vat
    Basis period
    Corp tax
    These topics kept coming up

    This is what I did and got 66 first attempt

    Took ATX last year during the lockdown and didn’t pass due to family member being very ill. Finally passed ATX and couldn’t believe the text message this morning. Family member passed away a few days after my ATX sitting… they’ll be proud.
    Although it was a struggle at home during the revision phase for this paper, I managed to pass. One paper left now.
    For those who didn’t pass, perseverance is key! Don’t give up and change your approved learning provider if needed.

    A fail after a second attempt. I thought I was going to make it this time around but no, same old story. I will have to change my approach that’s for sure, all is not lost. I have lost the March 2021 battle but not the War. The ultimate goal is to win the War.

    Congratulations to those who made it and to the one’s who failed let’s keep on pushing, this is part of the process. When the dust settles and we must go again.
