Hi,
I was looking for some advice.
I completed a degree in accounting and finance a number of years ago, claiming 9x exemptions. Therefore I only have 4x exams to sit for ACCA. I was looking to do a level 7 apprenticeship through my employer so I contacted BPP for advice. However, they have told me due to the number of exemptions I have I would not qualify for an apprenticeship, has any one else experienced this or know if there is any other way?
It is a huge difference in cost for a small employer to cover the costs without the apprenticeship levy so it does not seem fair that we cannot take advantage because of my educational history!Thank you in advance

It clearly states “You’ll study the Applied Knowledge and Applied Skills exams, which include all areas of accounting, reporting and management, as well as our Strategic Professional Level exams, where you can start to specialise in your chosen area. ” i.e. it is an apprenticeship for the whole of the ACCA Qualification – it simply doesn’t cater for students with exemptions.
You will also see at the bottom of the ACCA page that it provides an opportunity to get a degree – this wouldn’t be needed by a student who already has exemptions through a degree.
