Really gutted on this one.
Plus the UK is now not doing exams in June and I’ve never done a computer based exam before.
Looks like September is down the drain as well
April 13, 2020 at 1:31 am #567626I failed at 29%.
It was supposed to be my last exam exam (in addition to law). Not sure what to do now. Shall I do another exam? I have operation of ATX and AFM…..
Very disappointed.

It was my first attempt and I passed, got 57. Quite unexpected due to the fact that I did not complete the paper and only managed to do around 75%. Everyone I know failed to complete it but many of us still managed to pass it.
April 13, 2020 at 2:59 am #567658Passed the paper unexpectedly at 57
April 13, 2020 at 5:39 am #567694Can anyone guide as to how one can apply for an administrative review?
April 13, 2020 at 6:22 am #567707Same here 39 as well, I felt so disappointed.
Going mad real soon :'(April 13, 2020 at 7:38 am #567729@tasnimrxo said:
Hi all, congratulations to all that’s passed, please can you explain what methods you used for study? It’ll be a great help! And also read technical articles and practice past papers.
April 13, 2020 at 7:56 am #567747I scored 54 after several attempts. I return all the Glory to God Almighty…. Praise be to him. To those who didn’t make it don’t loose hope keep trying and use different preparation method

Hi all, congratulations to all that’s passed, please can you explain what methods you used for study? It’ll be a great help!I also had to be SO strict with myself on timing. I competed all of the paper but had to sacrifice some points in Question 1a (I could have gone on for an extra hour on that 24-marker!) But there’s literally no point in doing that at the risk of the rest of the exam – you’ve probably already scored the bulk of ‘easy marks’ and the hard ones are going to take time at the expense of easy ones elsewhere. So about 55 mins in I said goodbye to 1a and carried on with the rest of the paper. Many people on here said timing was a struggle, I believe probably due to 1a. Be really strict on yourself and you’ll pick up more points elsewhere.
Finally I tried not to dwell too much on past papers. They were useful in giving me a steer as to what I should be looking for, but this exam is effectively a case study and the examiner can tell pre-learnt answers a mile off. I went into the exam believing I was an audit partner, and had to focus solely on the case in front of me. By doing that you keep all answers relevant to the case and we likely to pick up more marks.
Hope these tips are useful to you! And all the best for future exams 🙂
April 13, 2020 at 9:01 am #56779732% for me.
I felt like I couldn’t give much more than that at the time, so I’m not sure where I’m going be able to find 18% from next time, whenever that is.
I’m now considering switching lanes and choosing a different optional paper, or perhaps move over to SBL (as I’ve already completed SBR). I don’t feel anything naturally come to me with AAA, and even though it’s my first sitting my thinking is that I should go for something more fitting for me. I’m never going to be an auditor in practice, my reason for choosing AAA was that AA was one of the easier papers I took, certainly compared to the standard versions of the other optionals.
Congratulations to all that have passed today – it’s an amazing feeling. For those of us who didn’t fare so well, keep in mind a fail is still progress in some direction.

Failed at 49%..has anyone ever got a recheckIt’s very, very rare to get extra marks from a recheck, especially since when an examiner marks a paper close to a pass mark, they recheck to see if they missed any marks anyway.
Admin review isn’t a remark, it’s just a recount. Save your money and smash the exam next time 🙂
April 13, 2020 at 11:52 am #567874Why do people keep saying glory to god for the pass. God didn’t sit there for several hours a day to study it you did
April 13, 2020 at 12:13 pm #567884Passed on first attempt at 64 %, as well as SBR at 74 %, also first attempt.
April 13, 2020 at 12:16 pm #567885Save yourself some money… the review is only a recount of already given points, i.e. a very expensive math check, nobody will actually reevaluate the exam as such. I never heard of anyone who would turn a fail to a pass through the admin review.
April 13, 2020 at 12:27 pm #567892The paper seemed very easy for me to be frank. I wasted maybe 10-15 minutes on the first question and that costed me at the end. This is the first exam I struggled with time. I managed to finish SBL with 5 minutes to spare.
I genuinely thought I’d clear or even if I fail it’ll be in the 45% area. To my surprise 30%. I don’t know if I could’ve done a better job than that. The worst part is I’ve to wait till September for the next attempt. More time is never good for me but I’ll try my best.
Best of luck to the re-takers and congratulations to all those who passed
April 13, 2020 at 12:43 pm #567896Passed 57 marks , second attempt. The exam is tricky, not hard as silabus but the marking is draconic. Congratulations for the passing attendees , for the one who failed -do not give up. The success will come, recap the theory but do not spend a great deal on this, focus on practicing as much as you can. Exam is very time pressuring so you have to stick with time allocation. What I spotted as first time I failed with 48 marks is that the examiner likes the ratios and not only to calculate but to analise and talk about. Best of luck and never give up

Felt the same way – the paper wasn’t bad at all and I felt if anything, felt it would be a close fail for me given I didn’t finish the paper.
Did you finish the paper? I would say I really finished around 80% of the paper – no time to do a 10 mark question and completely rushed through the other 10 mark question without much thought at all. So, getting 39 marks is a bit comforting to know I was at least correct in almost half of what I focused on..I’ll need to work on my time allocation and also exam technique for September’s paper.
It’s also really good to know the exam we just took is on the ACCA website – I’m just waiting for the answers to be published to that I can compare them with what I wrote down ( I wrote down my answers and points I made after the exam) to see how far off I was.
April 13, 2020 at 1:45 pm #567939Failed at 49% second attempt (48 first time around). CBE was a disaster as the exam was over 4 hours late starting, and couldn’t leave the exam centre for food or drink… Really felt that I did well in the exam and was happy coming out and attempted every question. Really can’t understand how I was so far off the mark…
April 13, 2020 at 1:52 pm #567948Got 63%,first attempt. I used Kaplan studying materials, technical articles, past exam papers and practice to pass.
