April 13, 2020 at 11:05 am #567858Hi Tyra,
Could you please share with us the key verbs that we should use in answering the questions?
my weakness is the more i read about the sample of answer (from BPP revision kit) the higher the tendency for me to copy the whole sentence. 🙁
April 13, 2020 at 12:20 pm #56788849% disappointing feeling.
So surprised to see how many of us were marginally close in this exam.
Booked for September already. Hopefully 2nd time lucky.
April 13, 2020 at 12:21 pm #567890Good luck these are now my September plans too!
April 13, 2020 at 1:20 pm #567908Very disappointed with my results, really thought I had over 50%. Waiting for over two hours to take the actual exam didnt help due to server issues!!!
April 13, 2020 at 1:23 pm #567912A 59% pass with just one home-study book and OpenTuition lectures, thank you OpenTuition, I couldn’t have done it without your great lectures!
Keep faith everyone, you can do it!April 13, 2020 at 1:36 pm #567924I gave 2 papers FM and AA.
I was expecting pretty good results for AA while not so good for FM but failed AA on 43 and passed FM . I answered questions exactly as they were answered in Kaplan kit. I was expecting 60+. Should I go for Admin review. Any who has personally experienced it?
I was given exemption from it but withdrew to appear for BS.April 13, 2020 at 1:42 pm #567934Passed with 71% – very grateful for this score as I found the OTQs extremely challenging on this exam.
April 13, 2020 at 1:43 pm #567935Passed first attempt with 63%
Thank you OT!
Now to the Strategic level!April 13, 2020 at 2:51 pm #567981Passed AA 60% on first attempt. Thank you Gentlemen at Open Tuition. You provide great resources for free. Thank you! kate
April 13, 2020 at 3:24 pm #568012Sadly failed with 43% (again!). Hence reason for registering today with Open Tuition!
My nemesis is trying to sit too many exams at once then running out of time to study in depth and finding myself too tired by exam days. Like most people, I work full time.I actually enjoy studying AA and thought I had passed this time so disappointed with 43% mark.
Onwards and upwards and many congrats to all those who got through this time. For those still trying – do not give up! You can do it.
April 13, 2020 at 3:36 pm #568021Hi I had 43% and we didn’t start our exam until 10.45? due to server issues. Not great is it and only got £20.00 credit from ACCA.
What was your score?
April 13, 2020 at 3:38 pm #568022Hi Kate
Any tips, time spent, resources, approach?? Gratefully received.
April 13, 2020 at 3:40 pm #568023Passed my 7th attempt with a 53%. I was always confident in all my items that I will get a 70% and above and always fell within the region 47 to 49.. luckily, I never lost hope.
April 13, 2020 at 3:45 pm #568024thanks
April 13, 2020 at 4:08 pm #568030Got 49% 4th atttempt really worked hard
Feeling dissappointed cause I sacrificed a lot for this exam.April 13, 2020 at 4:44 pm #568041Passed first time with 68%. For those asking for advice on how to pass I’ll tell you what I did:
My study plan begins 2 months before the exam where I spend 1 month learning and going over the syllabus and 1 month practicing questions from BPP Revison Kit and completing past and specimen exams. If I struggle to grasp certain concepts I watch open tuition tutorials. For this particular exam usually Section B which is worth 70% is made up of the Audit Risk and Response section, the Control and Test of Control Section and the Audit Evidence section. So I made sure that for each of these 3 sections I practiced a variety of Section B questions and I could answer the questions no matter what area of a business they referred to (payroll, sales, purchases, inventory etc) I also ensured that I was using the right audit verbs in the right places and once you start doing this it will just come naturally.
Along with this I found that it was very handy to learn which items of audit evidence can be used across more than one area. For example a circularisation can used as audit evidence for bank balance, trade payables balance and trade receivables balance. As well as this in most cases if you are struggling to think of another piece of evidence ‘obtain a written representation from directors’ is one that you can use in a lot of situations.
Also in the long risk and response questions where you have to do a table, if you begin all your risk sentences with ‘there is a risk that’ and all of your response sentences with ‘the auditor should’ this should mean that your answers are more precise and you won’t run as much of a risk of not hitting the point you are trying to make.
Good Luck
April 13, 2020 at 5:16 pm #568053Failed the exam with 49%. Feeling very disappointed.
I will repeat the exam but had planned on taking F5 and F9 exams in September – already started classes. Really don’t think I could take on a 3rd exam in September but with the additional time, maybe it will be ok. Anyone else in similar circumstances?
April 13, 2020 at 6:56 pm #568085First ACCA exam, Got a pass 54%, though I was expecting more. My advice to those who failed: I think the studying method will depend on whether or not you have a background in audit. For those whose first time to deal with audit, take time to read the book if you have one and listen to the lectures. Make sure you understand the difference between test of control and substantial procedures. You must be able to detect potential risk in a given scenario (You will become familiar with different risks after a lot of revision of the BPP revision Kit), practice the BPP revision Kit at least twice.
For those who have studied Audit before like me, I just downloaded the Opentuition book and summarised it. Then went through the BPP revision kit twice. I didn’t have time to do mock exams. Best of luckApril 14, 2020 at 11:38 am #568210Congratulations to everyone who have passed.
WHat study kit did you use BPP or Kaplan?

I think you are not using audit verbs in your answers. It is very important to use correct audit verbs in order to fetch marks. While answering audit risk and internal controls questions use correct verbs and plan your answers with
Risk and consequence of risk
Response and what it will make sure
Control deficiency and consequence of that
Control to be set and what it will make sure
Test of controlHello @farazhasankazmi. I really don’t know where i went wrong. I really am using all the audit verbs i know of. I am really struggling with this paper. Do you gave any resources which i can check and get my hands on some new verbs. Thanks.
