Congratulations to all that have passed and excelled. For those who have missed the margin, do not give up but do it again and shall pass
July 16, 2019 at 6:44 am #5237691st Attempt with 44%, i felt so disgruntled with only 6% to pass this paper. i will do it again. Thank you Open Tuition for your resources
July 18, 2019 at 9:22 am #524158First attempt and passed 61%. I am really happy but it is not an easy exam! Part A was quite hard so I didn’t spent much time there. I just focused on big questions. I didn’t do 4 point question. Before the exam I mainly focused on core areas Ethics, Audit Risk->Response, Internal controls (recommendation), Substantive test, Audit Report. I was referring a lot to IAS as they are quiet repetitive.
Audit Risk
KEY:
Which FS item is at risk?
OVER/UNDER stated
WHY
Refer to IAS if yo canInternal Controls:
Scenario describes clients control and your job is to:
Identify the deficiencies/ weakness in that syst.
Impact that would have on the company (control objectives not met)
Recommend the improvements (procedures)Substantive Test
Check ASSERTIONS
By doing TEST
of EVIDENCEI hope this can help
Good luck!July 18, 2019 at 6:19 pm #524204Hi Gracawa what was your study structure please
July 20, 2019 at 3:14 am #524376me too. when got out of examination room, feel so good. But then so disappointed!!!
July 20, 2019 at 11:46 am #524402I failed this exam with 49%. This is my last paper for the skills section. In the past ironically I was unsure whether i had passed papers like PM and FM but got a pretty good score whereas AA i was sure i got 70 plus marks and i get the dreaded text at midnight with a fail – gutted. I now plan on sitting SBR in September as i already had this booked and if i fail that i’m going to sit both AA and SBR in December. Full time job plus studying 2 papers will be a challenge if worst comes to worst but hopefully will be able to enjoy a nice pint of beer sometime in December and look back and say “Ah yes it was worth it”!
Congrats to everyone who passed this paper!

55% pass, just a pass but a pass all the same, delighted. 2nd attempt.I see a lot of people failing multiple times which is so frustrating, I found that learning a couple of core chapters really well in this module this time around really helped me.
I watched all the lectures and attempted all the questions at the end of each lecture which gives you an idea of what you need to spend more time on.
The chapters I spent most time on are:
Chapter 2 – Corporate governance
Chapter 5-8 Report and stages of an audit
Chapter 9 – Risk
Chapter 10 Evidence
Chapter 12 Internal Control
Chapter 16 AssertionsThis is not to say the rest aren’t important as we know that we need a broad knowledge to get through the multiple choice.
Also the articles on the ACCA website are great reading and give guidance to they type of question that will arise in the exam. I thought there was some direct links to what was on the exam, but that may just be me.
I’m not telling people how to pass, just what worked for me to get a squeaky 5% pass.
Hopefully this helps someone on their next attempt.
Did you use open tuition only or did you attend classes?
