63, first attempt, hated everything about AA, so happy it’s over!

Passed on first attempt with 58%, but…

Honestly I thought I will have much much better results, was virtually certain I’ll pass and now I see it’s just 9% buffer.

Also the same week I took F7 – and all the time since exam I thought, that F8 went really well, while I have really screwed F7… And I got better results from F7…

    1st 42%, 2nd 45%, 3rd 46%…at this point I had had enough and was stuck it a rut.

So I actually got myself a tutor, who was a senior auditor and had him every Saturday for 2 hrs for about 6wks whilst using BPP and Kaplan revision kits. It really helped me understand the application process and he used real life examples.

4th attempt 55% doing 80% of the paper, as i ran out of time as had so much more to write! Really thought i would fail though due to a tough Section A.

So if anyone is really struggling like I was, then a tutor could be a good idea. Not saying it will help everyone, but for me it definitely did. And now I’m off to burn my audit books, ha!

43% First attempt, and my first purely using Open Tuition. Back to college it is.

edit: Also broke my run. This was/is the last of the F papers for me, I’ve pass all the others. Gutted. 🙁

    I thought I got at least 60%. Section B felt soooo easy. I got a paltry 44%.

    Passed first time with 58%!
Absolutely relieved as I genuinely thought it would be a fail as I had really tough longer mark questions, that weren’t my strongest areas! And I struggled with the short mark questions too!
    – I did 6 weeks of studying (from receiving my March results for F7)… spending a lot of time on past papers. I feel past papers help me much more than lectures/notes as you get to see exactly what the examiner expects and how to answer questions!
Now onto FM to finish my fundamentals!

    Pass first attempt 67%
Very pleased with this, as during my exam the computers froze for nearly 2 hours, so i was in the exam hall for a total of 5 1/2 hours

48% fail first attempt 🙁 has anyone taken this exam with another exam as well? Contemplating retaking with FR in September, but never taken two at once before.

Fail 47% slightly gutted, but to be fair 4 weeks from starting Studying to Exam, so 47% is not a bad effort resitting in Sept, thanks OT

Pass. 59 first attempt. Was very sure that I would fail this exam. It’s very tricky. Practice is essential.

Pass with 61%. Bit disappointed as I this is my lowest score from f5-f8 and I was scoring ~75% in the Kaplan marked questions.

Still, a pass and onto Financial Management.

55% pass, just a pass but a pass all the same, delighted. 2nd attempt.

I see a lot of people failing multiple times which is so frustrating, I found that learning a couple of core chapters really well in this module this time around really helped me.

I watched all the lectures and attempted all the questions at the end of each lecture which gives you an idea of what you need to spend more time on.

The chapters I spent most time on are:

    Chapter 2 – Corporate governance
Chapter 5-8 Report and stages of an audit
    Chapter 9 – Risk
    Chapter 10 Evidence
    Chapter 12 Internal Control
    Chapter 16 Assertions

This is not to say the rest aren’t important as we know that we need a broad knowledge to get through the multiple choice.

Also the articles on the ACCA website are great reading and give guidance to they type of question that will arise in the exam. I thought there was some direct links to what was on the exam, but that may just be me.

I’m not telling people how to pass, just what worked for me to get a squeaky 5% pass.

Hopefully this helps someone on their next attempt.

    @eweald

I have taken two in the one window and found it difficult. Passed one and failed one.

Saying as you have a good base knowledge of this module it may be easier.

If you ask me I would stick to the one per window. Last thing you want is to fail both, which I’m sure wont happen. 🙂

    39% Fail.

I am not really surprised though as the computers crashed for over 2 hours in the middle of the exam where we all had to sit in exam conditions until they were working again. Complete joke.

This is weirdly similar to me…I thought I did amazing on F8 but was worried about whether I’d passed F9. Turns out I did slightly better on F9 and on F8 got 58%.
