do u know that many of the past P4 exam questions is very very similar to the questions in examiner’s bob ryan’s book- corporate finance and valuation,
    which published in 2007.

So if u buy his book earlier, then u have a much higher chance of passing P4.
But he is not the examiner anymore. good news or bad news? Is it Fair to P4 students?

    https://books.google.com/books?id=BlsNOiqQPeMC&printsec=frontcover&dq=bob+ryan#v=onepage&q&f=false

for example, just name a few
    p.478 -q1 pilot question
    p.392-q1
    p.480-481 -q3

It’s sad that I don’t like the new examiner exam style. I consider the last exam the most horrible experience I have ever had with any ACCA paper. As I can see now, I would definitely need to repeat p4 in December. So admin can you get us some new trends and some background information on the new examiner for P4, I hope this news reaches us on time for December 2010 ?

    to saara,
the new examiner not yet responsible for preparing the P4 exam questions at jun2010, he just reviewed it. His session begin from dec2010

JUN2010 session P4 exam question is still prepared by the old examiner bob ryan(his 3 yrs contract start from dec07 to jun10), which u found it horrible.
One of the P4 exam question is about how to enhance the credit rating of securitisation which absolutely can be found in either of official texts.

Ryan bob just want to promote his books, so he set difficult exam questions for P4, he even use the questions in his books corporate finance and valuation as exam questions(u can found it almost exactly the same-from pilot to jun09 Qs).

I can’t understand ACCA why still allow him to finish his contract till jun2010. It is
    totally unacceptable.

As I’ve said to a lot of people. When I found out the “core texts” didn’t cover “Bob’s P4” I was quite disgusted. According to him, you can only really pass his course by reading his book as the core texts aren’t good enough. CORE TEXTS!

I did P7 after that and qualified next sitting.

I hope the new examiner is better.
