I am using PM Kaplan exam kit of June 2020. Will it be valid for now june 2021 exams? or do I need to purchase a new one?
April 2, 2021 at 9:30 am #615749There has been no major change to the syllabus and so you do not need to buy a new book. The only addition is the mention of ‘big data’, but this does not involve calculations and is explained in our free lectures.
April 2, 2021 at 9:38 am #615750Thanks John. This is my second attempt I scored 42 in my first. Do I need to watch lectures again or do I need to read the lecture notes and practice more and more questions now? Your suggestions are valuable
Second query is I am planning to write PM and AFM this june 2021. Is it possible to write both subjects in 2 months preparation? I will have 8hrs time daily on average to prepare
April 2, 2021 at 10:08 am #615753Most important is practice.
Practice every question in your exam kit (attempting the question before looking at the answers so as to learn from your mistakes). If you realise that it is something you have forgotten or misunderstood, then look back at the relevant lectures or ask in this forum.
When you have finished all of the questions, then go back and attempt them all again 🙂Also, make sure that you have read all of the technical articles on the ACCA website.
With regard to doing PM and AFM, then although it is possible to prepare for both by the time of the exam, I do warn you that AFM is a very hard exam. I personally would concentrate just on Paper PM, and only attempt AFM as well if you got very high marks in the Paper FM exam.
April 2, 2021 at 10:30 am #615755Thanks John. You are just gold to the ACCA community. Will surely practice the way you told.
With regard to AFM I got exemption in FM due to my CA here in India. So do u suggest writing both AFM and PM or only PM?
April 2, 2021 at 4:14 pm #615774I would concentrate only on PM,
The reason is that the students who have the biggest problems with AFM are almost always those who were exempt from Paper FM. Much of AFM is revision from FM, and it seems that most degree courses do not cover everything in FM and do not cover it in the same depth.
Your degree course may have been better, so if you know anyone else who did the same course and who has taken AFM then they may be able to advise you better. Otherwise I would certainly just concentrate on PM.
April 2, 2021 at 8:06 pm #615788Thanks for the beautiful explanation John. Will surely consider this and plan accordingly.
April 3, 2021 at 9:46 am #615808You are welcome 🙂
