About the exam kit

There has been no major change to the syllabus and so you do not need to buy a new book. The only addition is the mention of ‘big data’, but this does not involve calculations and is explained in our free lectures.

Most important is practice.

Practice every question in your exam kit (attempting the question before looking at the answers so as to learn from your mistakes). If you realise that it is something you have forgotten or misunderstood, then look back at the relevant lectures or ask in this forum.
When you have finished all of the questions, then go back and attempt them all again 🙂

Also, make sure that you have read all of the technical articles on the ACCA website.

With regard to doing PM and AFM, then although it is possible to prepare for both by the time of the exam, I do warn you that AFM is a very hard exam. I personally would concentrate just on Paper PM, and only attempt AFM as well if you got very high marks in the Paper FM exam.

I would concentrate only on PM,

The reason is that the students who have the biggest problems with AFM are almost always those who were exempt from Paper FM. Much of AFM is revision from FM, and it seems that most degree courses do not cover everything in FM and do not cover it in the same depth.

Your degree course may have been better, so if you know anyone else who did the same course and who has taken AFM then they may be able to advise you better. Otherwise I would certainly just concentrate on PM.
