Dear Mr Mofffat,
I have logged in ACCA website and see that there are some changes to syllabus 2013, especially Chapter E – Performance Measurement.
If in syllabus 2012, there are just 5 topics to be examined, then in 2013, there are 7 with 3 new topics:
1. Perfomance management information systems.
2. Sources of management information.
3. Mangement reports.Currently, I have a BPP textbook 2011 to study. Do you really think I should buy a new textbook? Or else opentuition forum can assist learners like me these 3 new topics? Because it will be a waste to buy a new one, with just a litle change in F5 syllabus.
Hope your reply soon.
February 10, 2013 at 9:54 am #116986There is not too much involved in the new topics, and they are covered in the OpenTuition course notes.
(Note that although the examiner has removed Basic Variances from the syllabus, they are still examinable – it is just that they are deemed knowledge from Paper F2)

February 10, 2013 at 10:01 pm #117159Dear John,
Besides syllabus change for 2013, do you recommend following video lectures and course notes on open tuition as sufficient learning material to cover F5 2013 exam or would you recommend study text as reference. If so which easy to use, comprehensive study text would you best recommend.
Thanks
Rez
February 12, 2013 at 7:53 am #117466There is enough on this website to be able to pass the exam.
However, as always, the more additional reading that you do the better.
All the ACCA approved texts are OK.
