Hi sir,
Firstly, thanks for all the lectures and revision for F5, especially the run downs through the specimen and December 14 exams.
Just regarding the ABC question, I see the layout set out in the “Opentuitionf5 June2015 suggested answers” to be a little different to mine.
Instead of splitting out the overheads in the Cost card to three separate rows, I just added them separately into one row titled “Overheads” for both A and B. Do you think that is ok?
Also, for nursing costs and general facility costs, I added the cost pools together and divided them by 1,425,600 to get a total of $10.36. Looking back, I think this may be wrong and I should have calculated them separately (although I have seen it done in example answers). What do you think, im guessing a lost mark?
Thanks,
YazanJune 2, 2015 at 7:00 pm #252112As I have written on the first page – how you show your calculations is not relevant. There are several ways of showing it, and as long as it is clear to the marker what you are doing then you get the marks).
With regard to your last bit, it is no problem adding the two together and getting just the total cost. That will not lose you marks.
June 2, 2015 at 10:49 pm #252214I also had a different layout. I worked out all of the unit costs i.e. cost per meal but when separating into A and B to work out the total cost for each procedure I multiplied them all out at the relevant ratios with a total costs column at the side to check.
I then divided all of these costs by the number of procedures to give the totals for one unit.
I’m sure that this gives the same answer, it was just time consuming.
Do you think I will lose marks?June 3, 2015 at 6:56 am #252266But I am have just answered this (and I have written it on the first page of my suggested answers)!!!
How you set it out does not matter.
