When using Activity based costing, the general overheads not relating to the selected activities would have to be absorbed using absorption costing?

That is what would normally happen (obviously as with all management accounting, it is not a rule).

I explain this in my free lectures. The lectures are a complete free course for Paper F5 and cover everything needed to be able to pass the exam well.
