Hi All,
I’m struggling. I passed the AA exam in March session and without even checking I’ve booked the AAA exam for september. I just realised that every book/notes I read say “Do SBR first before you do AAA”.
Unfortunately, I have already paid for the exam and bought study materials and course from BPP.
Could someone please explain to me if it’s possible to pass this exam without studying SBR before? Is there any notes I could quickly read to get broad knowledge from the subject?
Also, I find the BPP workbook quite hard to follow. Would you consider reading OT notes + watching OT lectures + practicing questions from P&R Kit from BPP sufficient for the exam?
Thanks in advance,

I am sure it has been done – see here by guidance to someone sitting them both together https://opentuition.com/topic/can-i-sit-for-aaa-and-sbr-together
If you download our notes https://opentuition.com/acca/aaa you will see in Chapter 14 that we refer you to our SBR note https://opentuition.com/acca/sbr if you need to fill gaps in your knowledge.
The most important thing is that you are not ignoring the auditing aspects of SBR topics in your preparation.

I passed AAA first time before SBR, I took AAA in March 20 and am taking SBR in September 20.
I think there are some advantages if AA is still fresh however, you do need to make sure you know all the examinable standards.
I printed the list of these and then watched the relevant lectures on open tuition – they are actually really good.
I used another provider for the AAA content but it did presume prior SBR knowledge and whilst it did summarise the standards I don’t think it was sufficient (for me anyway)July 9, 2020 at 9:04 pm #576462saraadams@live.co.uk

In answer to your question, the OT lectures on standards (within SBR) would be enough + practise questions

If you don’t mind can you share your list of the examinable standards that you made as I’m also attempting AAA before SBR and a little help from you will be very helpful to me.
Thank You.

Fatima – if you look at the contents page of our AAA notes you will see Chapter 14 “Relevant Accounting Standards” – it has an accompanying lecture.
