Even an approved textbook won’t include every bit of knowledge you might see in the published answers – and our notes are inevitably less comprehensive because they’re much shorter (!) – though I can say that over the last 3 years I have sought to address in the notes some common misconceptions that used to be a topic for numerous queries in the past.

I know that many students do manage with only the notes and lectures + revision materials because they can’t afford to buy a text. Others buy texts for reference though few report exactly how much they use the text.

This post is by a resit student https://opentuition.com/topic/how-i-passed-aaa-at-3rd-attempt-73 but I think it illustrates that success in AAA comes down to thorough question practice. There are so many resources – my “starred” posts on the AAA forum and technical articles written by the examining team that with the OT notes and lectures too you probably wouldn’t have time for a text – you really need to study the subject matter as quickly as possible (which you can do because you did well in AA and recently). Then get stuck into question practice – you MUST have a current edition kit https://opentuition.com/20-discount-bpp-books

As a reference for ethics and ISAs my preference is to refer to the standards themselves rather than a textbook – download pdfs are very easy to search.
