I want to ask regarding the marking of section B. Some section B questions are requiring response in form of 2-column or 3-column tables, which have 2 or 3 marks each for every row. My question is that does every “cell” in the table marked separately, or as a single row? i.e. If I write the correct audit risk, but wrong auditor’s response in a 2-column table which gives 2 mark for every set of risk and response, will I get 1 mark or not at all?
If your exam is next week, you must read an examiner’s report, preferably one for an exam you have attempted https://www.accaglobal.com/uk/en/student/exam-support-resources/fundamentals-exams-study-resources/f8/examiners-reports1.html
For example (M/J23):
“Describe EIGHT audit risks and explain the auditor’s response to each risk in planning the audit of Lapis Co.
Marks are awarded for identification of audit risks (½ mark each), explanation of audit risks (½ mark each) and an appropriate auditor’s response to each risk (1 mark each). With a scenario-based requirement such as this, good exam technique is critical.”
Every report has the same advice.
So you will be awarded up to a maximum of 4 marks for identifying the risks – 8 marks if each has a relevant explanation. You will get 1 mark for each audit response that is relevant to a risk you have identified.
