Do we need to memorise calculations for the AA exam or will they be provided in the exam?

If you mean ratios for analytical procedures they are assumed knowledge of FA and not provided. If you understand their meaning they should be easily remembered.

Yes thats what i meant. Ok thank you. Im actually sitting my first ACCA exam after doing my degree quite some time ago so quite a bit nervous. The ratios is the only bit of calculations for the exam isnt it? everything else is pretty much theoretical?

Most marks in Section B will be for “narrative” (i.e. non-computational) answer points; but this does not mean “theory”. AA is a very practical exam based on scenarios (mini-case studies). Ratios for analytical procedures could require calculation as could materiality of a misstatement (to decide whether an audit opinion should be modified or not).
