Hello Sir John.
I was practicing the exam kit and came across 2 confusions in the answers that I got wrong. Please help me understand better.1. Are productivity Measurements part of Tactical information or operational information?
To my own understanding, they’re part of operational as Number of rejects/min or how many products are being produced in a day goes to the day to day measurements no? Please clarify because I was doing the Kaplan exam kit and in its answers, Its apparently part of Tactical information.2. Does a management accountant help an organization in motivating and coordinating as-well? Amongst Costing, Planning, Controlling, Decision Making & Performance Evaluation?
Also many of the questions in the exam kit under chapter 1 are regarding Cost, Revenue, Profit and Investment Centers. We haven’t covered this in the lecture of Chapter 1, do we cover it later on? If so, then in which chapter?

1. Productivity measures are useful because the company will want to improve the productivity. However improvements in productivity are not something that can be done instantly from day to day but will involve changes in the future. This is why they are tactical information.
2. The management accountant will provide the information, but it is the managers who have to decide on ways of motivating. This (and coordinating) are part of the planning (i.e. budgeting) process.
Different types of centres are dealt with a later chapter.
