Just wondering how people approached or are approaching their “final” P papers? How many are you taking? How prepared are you feeling?

I have three left and registered for P2, P4 and P7. I wanted to do all of them in December and have organised with work to work part time leading up to my exams. I thought it was doable.

However, the exams are 2 months away and it’s just hit me how much work I’ve got to do. I started in July and I’m someone who has to feel very prepared to pass exams. I am just getting into exam practice mode now but feel that 3 exams is a lot. I’m focusing on the topics that get the most marks, but I still have A LOT to revise. I tend to go over the theory first, then I get into question practice.

I just wanted to ask others how they are getting or how they felt about their finals. I want to finish ASAP but my biggest fear is going for three and failing all of them because I spread myself too thin. It already feels like a big challenge to be well prepared for all three.

I’m just guessing that most people feel like this for their finals. You know how to pass exams. You’ve proved yourself as a good student or accountant. And you just want to get done. I am just wondering now whether to spread the exams over two sessions. And next year there will be three sessions in case things don’t go to plan.

So, just looking for realistic advice or inspiring stories. I have to think before next week if I want to do two or three exams. P2 and P7 would be manageable. P4 isn’t as scary as I thought it could be but I don’t think you can go into that exams and chance your luck.

    Any feedback greatly appreciated.

p.s Been using materials from BPP, ACCA Simplified and Mapit (online lectures). Also liked the revision materials from Open Tuition for P4. Would recommend these to anyone looking for mindmaps and Q&A style materials.

We haven’t started our courses for December 2014 yet in our part of the World. You sound like you’re about to enter revision stage.

3 is certainly doable. Just plan your time between now and December and allocate specific times on specific dates to get into the 3 revision kits.

As they say in the context of a lottery, you can’t win it if you’re not in it. You say you want to finish as soon as possible? Ok, go for all three. There’s not even any shame in failing one – at least you will have a better idea should there be the need to resit

    Go on, go for three
