    Hi Vijay,

    In an opentuition practice question,

Which of the following is not an offence under the Proceeds of Crime act 2002 in the context of money laundering:

    – Laundering
    – Placement
    – Integration
    – Layering

The correct answer is Laundering according to OT,

    Why is that?

    Thanks

    Hi

So Laundering is an offence. But it is not a “Phase/stage” of money laundering. Can you check the wording of the question please? I suspect the question is asking which is not a “phase or stage” of money laundering.

    Kind regards,

    Vijay

    Thanks Vijay,

I checked the question again,it is the same as I wrote. It is in practice questions , q 3 of illegalities ,

I think the question is not correct,

    Thanks,

Yes, I think the wording is not right.

So just to clarify “Laundering” is an offence.

Placement, Layering and Integration are not offences.

    Kind regards,

    Vijay
