Hi, I have had some complications with exemptions awarded and ACCA just replied me with the exemptions given despite requesting 2 months ago.
I am planning to take the Dec 2014 exams. Now with just 2 months left to self study full time, and nothing started, may I have some suggestions on how many papers at most I should attempt? And which is easiest among f5,f6,f7 and f8.
October 1, 2014 at 9:46 pm #203150they say its best to follow the number order, i live to do a mixture of theory and computation each sitting.
all the papers are a bit rough and takes time to study and requires a lot of practice
F5 is about 50/50 theory and computation and a bit hard but once you cover all the material and put a lot of practice in a very good understanding of advance variances, budgets and performance appraisal will get you at least 75% of the marks
F6 was for me personally the easiest but that may be because all the lectures werent uploaded until the end of April and it forced me to do a lot of practice. The paper is mainly computational and tax laws really easy to follow. Its usually recommended though that you do in June in case you fail since the tax rules change every year.
F7 has a lot of standards to remember and is usually recommended to sit with F8 as requires you know the standards both papers are a bit huge but compliments each other beautifully. A good understanding of cash flow and group consol along with othe IAS is required to pass this paper.
as a full time student really you can do any two papers in the 2 months so review the study materials for each paper and requirements and see what you are more comfortable with.
you can also look browse through the forums for each paper to help make up your mind.
good luck!
