Sir,
If the subsidiary is acquired on the incorporation shouldn’t the retained earnings of subsidiary be equal to profits made during the year.

The retained earnings are the total of the profits for all the years since incorporation.

If the subsidiary was acquired on incorporation then all the retained earnings are post-acquisition profits.
