That appeared to me like a flexed budget statement they were asking for. I I had to flexed the 12 months budget by calculating the cost per unit of the various items and suing that figure and multiply by the actual units ie 950 units to get my revised budget. I compared this to the six months actual and did the variance. That was my approach but don not know whether that was what the examiner wanted.

I did the same. Another C section question for me is police force. It was disgusting.

    My calculation is 80*(2-0.5-0.25)-45=55

    It’s A for me. Don’t why it’s wrong.

Many thanks John. Found previous explanation about the questions.

I don’t understand Q29. Profit is worked out as 80*(2-0.25)-45=95.

Why labour cost is not deducted from the sales price?

    Many thanks for replies above.

If the last accounting period is less than 12 months (eg. 3months), do I have to work out the loss of last 12 months before it can be carried back to offset previous 36 months?

Thanks, I had the same thought as you.

But it says on the book ‘The dividend nil rate band counts towards the basic rate limit of £33500 and the higher rate limit of 150000.’

Does it not mean it’s only for basic rate and higher rate?

I phoned HMRC. They told me that £5000 nil band of dividend income is for all taxpayers, including additional rate taxpayers.

Why ACCA website add ‘only count towards basic rate and higher rate threshold?’

    So confused…
