March 13, 2013 at 1:25 pm #119766Its really motivating to see that good number of participants are willing to participate for past papers practice, but many of them have requested to start study sessions before we move on to start past papers practice.
The suggestion is quite reasonable as, syllabus needs to be covered first before we move on to practice sessions.
As, i am attempting this paper for the second time this session along with a busy work schedule these days so, practically we can start the past papers practice sessions from SUNDAY 14th of April, 2013 so that everyone, gets ample time to cover adequate amount syllabus till mid of April and then, we can start by practicing OPTION questions on ethics, practice management and the compulsory Q1. that relates of risk of material mis-statements AND/OR Business Risks.
I would not be able to conduct study sessions owing to busy workload, but if any one wants to give it a try for this session. He/She is more than welcome on opentuition.com as usual and i am more than willing to help out. π
Good day to all!

November 2, 2012 at 4:29 am #103982Guys we are going to have 2 sessions on Overseas aspects of Corporation Tax, since, in my opinion a single session would be quite inadequate for covering such an important area of the syllabus;
– The first session will conducted on SAT 3rd of November-2012 at 9:30 a.m. UK Time / GMT. I will keep this session short to around 2-3 hrs max. So, participants can have much time for themselves on SAT.
– The 2nd session will be conducted on SUN 4th of November-2012 at 10:10 a.m. UK Time / GMT. This would be long session, ranging around 4-5 hrs i guess. Of course, we will have breaks in between so we don’t run out your batteries. π
Now, since the UK people has ended the day light saving scheme in last month of October, so to solve the lingo of time zones, here is a link that would solve this mystery;

Thanks and Good day to all!
October 31, 2012 at 2:00 pm #106221I guess they are all, since each and every question covers or entails all the topics. Based on my question practice, i have seen that most of the option questions include interaction of CGT and IHT along with bits of Income Tax.
So, having a preferential behavior for any topic could be lethal for health i guess πOctober 29, 2012 at 8:07 am #56485On the event of Death of a taxpayer the capital losses can be carried back to 3 years against chargeable gains on LIFO basis, meaning the gains of latest year preceding the year of death will be used to set-off capital losses of year of death.
