I suggest you take the time to go through all the questions in the kaplan exam practice kit. The answers are given with explanations, read & re-read them carefully, and take notes of things that you muddle up easily. Use the calculator to your advantage, and let your brain do the minimum amount of work.
Try to take a logical approach, rather than memorizing a formula.
For example in variances; you can either memorize a lengthy calculation, or remember something like – material price variance is; we have x kg of material, this should have cost us y amount, but it actually cost us z. The variance is the difference between the two.
