based on my own experience, I would recommend you to practice all the questions on bpp exam kits, you need to understand all questions inside and out. for exam preparation, I always focus on those questions that I wasn’t comfortable with, making sure that I’m comfortable with.
I passed all my P papers on first attempt, SBR 72%,ATX 70% and AFM 73%, SBL I only got 57%, I’ve just got the membership approved confirmation.
Keep practice the past paper questions, use acca cbe platform to practice, be very familiar with the cbe excel functionality, and ensure always practice those questions as if was under the exam conditions, set timer on your phone. self-marking is also a good tool, compares your own answer vs the ACCA’s, find the gap where you could improve. by practice lots questions, you will gain confidence in time management and fast understanding on the question requirements.
Best of luck!

June 11, 2021 at 12:16 pm #624662lol that deferred tax on acquisition totally thew me off… were u also studying in AS with Liam? if u were, such a small world 🙂 lol
June 11, 2021 at 9:22 am #624634the new scheme less the acquisition consideration, is that not supposed to be the balance of the replacement scheme, only a year left so should be expensed to P&L?
I think it’s very similar like the Q Luploid on exam kit, consideration on Luploid was calculated at FV at acquisition / total years * years vested…
I could be wrong… ehh lol should stop think of the exam now, it is too late lol
June 11, 2021 at 8:58 am #624625that replacement share scheme triggered me, for consideration calculation, i used 10m FV ( at acquisition) / 3 ( 2 original scheme+1 yr extended) *2 ( vested at the acquisition date) = 6.7m. was this correct?
June 10, 2021 at 7:25 pm #624538if i remembers right that digital vs manufacturing question was specifically said, your answer should not use reference of any of the exhibits. I think you have mentioned about the difference of the revenue and assets etc were necessary as it explain the difference between the industries. to me, the value creation is the key word of the integrated reporting, there is a very similar question on revision kit. therefore, i have explained the IR then capitals, then difference between the sectors, assets, operation expenses, customer relationships.. these all fall into different type of the capitals mentioned under the IR. then Manufacturing sector performance measure normally use financial ratio analysis, non-financial measurement is useful to digital sectors such as customer satisfactory rate ect…
lol it’s finished now, so hopefully we will all pass. fingers crossed.
June 10, 2021 at 5:44 pm #624493the question you have mentioned about ‘ differences in IFRS between entertainment and manufacturing’ if i remembers right , it was actually asking you to explain the integrated reporting. because it has mentioned about create value for primary users ( investor and shareholders)
integrated reporting is all about value creation, the digital sector and the manufacturing sector has very diff. business characteristic.. i just explained different focus and performance measures should be considered. and integrated reporting specifically states the different capitals, such as human capital, financing capital, social relationship capital, manufacturing capital, intellectual capital etc…
Deferred tax one triggered me too, i didn’t revise any question has deferred tax on acquisition, so, I just used my imagination.
June 10, 2021 at 5:35 pm #624487It was sale and lease back. the question has asked you to explain why IFRS 15 performance and obligation was satisfied ( so hint was actually given i thought) …then next question, goes on asked you to give the relevant IFRS 16’s accounting treatment.
it is operating lease, because the lessor obtain the risk( insurance and maint) and rewards ( collect the lease payment), 20 years lease out of 40 yrs useful life… in addition, the repurchase was unlikely, as the contract was unfav. after 20 yrs repurchase at + 50% premium.. so, to me, it’s sale and lease back… I thought the sales proceed greater than the NPV of lease payment, should be treated as prepayment on the lease.
December 16, 2020 at 10:51 am #600109Today, i was supposed to be passing my PM exam, i have complete 3 times system checks all was ok, and successfully checked in, launched my exam all looked ok, until the first question popped out, the exam page just suddenly disappeared!!! The online technical support person has run the troubleshoot however it did not work! so… ACCA did refund my exam fee straightaway, however the stress has caused it’s just unbelievable!! I was well prepared for the exam, and now i have to pass two papers in March. I think i won’t be passing another home remote exam for sure! it’s a joke!
