    A company employs 20 direct production operatives and 10 indirect staff in its manufacturing department. The normal operating hours for all employees is 38 hrs per week and all staff are paid a a basic rate of $5 per hour. Overtime hours are paid a the basic rate +50%. During a particular week all employees worked for 44 hours to meet the company’s general production requirements.
    What amount would be charged to production overhead?
    A. $300
    B. $450
    C. $2350
    D. $2650

    I was told that u add the direct labour and indirect labour to arrive at your gross wages. Is this correct? I’m confused!!

    Why in OT pay u add 4+4 in the bracket? Does that stand for the 4 weeks and the basic rate?

    A company operates a factory which employs 40 direct workers throughout the 4 week period just ended. Direct employees were paid at a basic rate of $4.00 per hour for a 38 hour week. Total hours of the direct workers in the 4 week period were 6528. Overtime which is paid at a premium of 35% is worked in order to meet general production requirements. Employee deductions total 30% of gross wages. 188 hours of direct workers time were registered as idle. Calculate:
    1.Gross pay
    2.Deductions
    3.Net wages
    4.Direct labour
    4.Indirect labour
