Officially – No exemptions for F5 and F9… that’s a bummer. :/ Now I’d have to go for F5 and F6 I believe. :'(
January 24, 2016 at 10:27 am #297684Seagoat,
I am just waiting for some final transcripts to be received to apply for exemptions, I have exemptions till F1-F4, but there’s a very good chance I’d be exempted from F5 and F9 as well. Just a few things to iron out and then, I’d be good to go. If I don’t exepmtions, I’d still like to keep the sequence and go for F5 and F6 — what do you think? Or May be I can begin with F6, F7 and incase of no exemption for F5 and F9, I go for F5 and F8 in Dec?
John Moffat,
Thank you so very much for those “FREE” lectures and notes, truly appreciate. I wanted to go for CIMA first but the support for ACCA at this site is amazing and completely changed my mind and CIMA’s exams are also computer-based, I prefer paper based exams. Thank you for your suggestions – I will then go on and purchase the ‘Exam Kits’ as well. One more thing, can we download the OT notes for Mar 2016 and use for June 2016?
Lastly, I’ve heard that we have to use black pen to write the exams — is it ballpoint? Any other such rules that I should be aware of like specific calculators to use?
Thank you again — these responses have been quite quite helpful!

Thank you for your response. Overall your suggestions have been quite helpful and realistic I’d say, just a bit more help if you may..
Since I am planning to go for F6 and F7 in June, how would you advise to tackle that with the work and weekends? I don’t have much of a social life and I think I can make more time on weekends as well.
Moreover, how many hours of quality study-time or say chapters I should be covering in a day if I start from Mid-Feb?
For study material, I have access to Kaplan’s printed one and I will be taking your suggestion and still buy it for any detailed reviews. But are OT notes all up to date? And should I still buy the Revision Kits?
Thank you very much and looking forward to your advise.
Good day!
January 19, 2016 at 8:39 am #296165Ah the good old ICAP — in my opinion they should provide more flexibility but to make sure they have their monopoly in the local market they are doing this. It’s unfortunate for ACCA Affiliates in Pakistan as well for not being able to get those training contracts normally reserved for ICAP students and no exemptions from ICAP either.
However, if you are already working in the field then you can just keep on doing that while simply complete your ACCA and in 3 years you can be a full member of ACCA as well.
That being said, if it’s the same Firm that won’t certify the experience then you should change it to somewhere who would certify your experience there.
Good Luck to You!
