Passed with 60%, my last exam. Thank you opentuition – I can say that I passed all professional level based on Opentuition tutorials and materials. Great condensed knowledge which will give you 50+ marks is all you need to succeed.
October 4, 2023 at 2:48 pm #692820Hi I am not sure if I found the right answers anywhere so I would like to ask you below questions:
1) How do you “pass” the modules – you need to write a research project for each of it (I see there are no examinations mentioned in the brochure)? Please describe in more details.
2) How does a Capstone project work? Is it again a research project but with more word count?I would be grateful for your answers.
September 7, 2023 at 9:20 pm #691673I think that pre-seen was a sort of booster for us to start thinking, analyzing possible questions, trying to grasp as much as possible. We all were told that the pre-seen was just a background but I guess everyone sort of tried to guess what will be required based on pre-seen. At the end of the day it seems that logic was the thing you followed during the exam not models etc. I am curious how this exam will be marked because it seems that a lot of us have the same doubts about our performance
September 5, 2023 at 7:13 pm #691456My questions were
1) Culture change with new CEO. For me it was a move from Power to Task culture, autocratic boss vs democratic and participative etc.
2) Two slides one about the importance of NEDs and second about how diversity is important on Board (mixed skills, experiences, backgrounds etc)
3) AI flight training investment appraisal. To me it seemed too early ro invest
4) Risk report and consequences of risks
5) Financial, statistical and KPI analysis
6) Integrated reporting and what to report (I matched the requirwments with mission values)I honestly do not know if I did ok or not. I think that only 5% of syllabus was relevant. No strategic choices, no Porter, no Marketing, no Big Data, no change management, no forecasts, no budgeting. Seemed odd to me and I tried to connect the dots properly but not sure how I did.
August 23, 2023 at 7:32 pm #690602Seems that you are just frustrated with the result and the rest is your own opinion. I think you do not have enough experience to connect the dots from SBL exam to actual management. Scenarios might be unrealistic (life can also be unrealistic sometimes) but that is why they are called scenarios. I am exactly in the same position as you with one exam left and September will be my first SBL try, but the syllabus seems not far away from real issues the companies have to analyze. “To maximize a profit and reduce a cost” is an outcome of strategy but you need to know how to maximize the profit and reduce the cost and this is more less the purpose of this exam to me. Seems to me that you do not understand that revenues are not increasing just because someone says so or decides to increase the price (which might actually kill the company), same with costs and it is easy to stay behind the competitors if you do not analyze your strategy, environment, capabilities, if you do not forecast or investigate the variances. I have found quite a lot of analogies to real life and I think that maybe at some point in your career you will find too. Good luck with the exam! Hope we will make it on September 🙂
June 11, 2023 at 9:14 pm #686819Got the version with 1 – Project appraisal for foreign investment, 2 – Football club with troubles and two rescue scenarios and 3 – Hedging of dividend. Seems to me that I did ok. Got positive NPV in 1 (PPP to calculate the fx then regular Cash Flow calculations), in 2 both scenarios were positive for covenants (none were breached in both scenarios) but the examiner deliberately said about the 20X9 season where revenues were to go up by 40% so to me it was clear that the sale of players creates a huge risk of not being able to stay in division and eventually not being able to capitalize the boost. So the second option (with employee cost 60% almost breached) was better for the long term. For 3 I did MMH, Futures and Options and Futures gave best result. For swaps I had no time to finalize but managed to explain what swap is etc. Hope I will pass but seems to me that I did really well
May 15, 2023 at 4:40 pm #684400Hi all
Did anyone get the Diploma yet or received any information about the package details? I am wondering if I will receive a tracking number or something or it will just come by mail one day?
Thanks

March 10, 2023 at 7:32 pm #681033Same to me. This was my first try, passed everything else in first sitting and I have two exams left (AFM and SBL). Was totally lost on this exam and will not pass definitely mainly due to time. It took me a lot of time to process the acquisition 50 marks question and then I had to catch up with other questions knowing I will have to get back to 50 marks question. In conclusion – had to take shortcuts on commentary questions and lost a lot of easy points. Questions also seemed odd.
