November 7, 2015 at 4:19 pm #281015Hi Carl29,
Thanks for the reply. One more question, if lets say I do not how much is the repair and maintenance cost until the bill comes in , how do I go about making the accrual in October ?
March 12, 2015 at 2:01 pm #232140I am a completely different situation. I am now an ACCA affiliate but without practical accounting experience. I have been rejected by employers due to my lack of accounting experience !
August 9, 2014 at 12:37 pm #188894Hi , I switched to P6 after failing P5 4 times. However, I ever did F6 and so my situation slightly differs from yours.
If you intend to take P6, that means you are starting everything from zero since you don’t have any basic tax knowledge from F6. The process of learning P6 could be much more tougher than doing P5 which has relevance to your profession.
P5 has the lowest pass rates nowadays and I am not sure how many attempts you have made for P5. The low pass rates could have frightened you and made you lose sleep.
P5 has a very broad topic and sometimes I ended up wondering what am I learning in P5 as I found this paper kind of ‘ messy ‘ .
I made the decision to switch to P6 which was more structured and I knew what I needed to learn for me to pass the exams. Thank God, I finally made it and now an affiliate.
If you are more comfortable with P5 , then stick with it. I guess the answer is in your heart.
August 9, 2014 at 12:21 pm #188888P1 obviously ! It has some overlapping areas with F8 . P1 seems to be the least heavy as compared to P2 and P3.
February 11, 2014 at 10:29 am #158012For those who want to give up P7 and switch to P5, please think again. The pass rates for P5 has been horrible. It is not n easier option. Just my 2 cents worth.
February 8, 2014 at 9:47 am #156708Hi Ying Yang,
Which country variant did you attempt for P6 ?
February 8, 2014 at 8:09 am #156603hi cpboon, who is your lecturer for P5 previously in Singapore ?
February 8, 2014 at 7:56 am #156592I failed my P6 in last sitting and now really tempted to try P5 although it is not an easy paper either.
I passed P7 in my first attempt although i ever faced hurdles in passing F8 previously.
i personally feel that P6 can be quite interesting as it is more like a standalone subject although it is an advanced level of F6.
Unlike P7, you need to retain your P2 , F7 and F8 knowledge which i suppose you need to spend a bit of time to refresh and revise again. in addtion, the pass rate for P7 is normally the lowest among the option papers. This could be an important consideration.
I suggest you do some reading on the materials for P6 and P7 to determine which is a suitable option for you.
February 8, 2014 at 7:48 am #156581hi Kylefran,
I don’t think there is any online course for P6 (SGP).
Perhaps you can try calling the various tuition providers (such as LSBF, Kapan, FTMS or SAA) to enquire whether they offer any online course. Alternatively, try checking with them whether they could scan or mail you the main lecture notes and email you the notes (with lecturer explanation) after each lecture.
February 8, 2014 at 2:05 am #156360Hi kylefran,
Are you attending lectures for P6 ?
We normally use lecture notes and revision kit for exams.

February 6, 2014 at 4:28 am #155354Just received a call from ACCA tuition provider asking me whether i wanted to enrol in ACCA course for the coming Jun’14 sitting. I got so angry and at the same time felt that it was a display of bad sign 🙁
February 5, 2014 at 1:55 pm #155224ugras05, which country variant did you do for P6 ?
I did for Singapore but it went quite horrible. My last paper also. I heard UK variant also quite bad in the Dec’13 sitting .
February 5, 2014 at 1:46 pm #155218Hi Guys,
Just to calm down some nerves and want to sidetrack a bit. For those doing option papers which is also your final paper, can i know whether you all will stick to the same option paper or will consider a switch to other option if you not able to make it in the Dec’13 sitting ?

February 4, 2014 at 10:52 am #155044Should we disregard those Recent grads incidents ? After seeing so many negative signs, I can’t wait to sit the Jun’14 exams.
