Never give up freind I passed on 4th attempt with 61..what I did was I have attended all webinars on exam techniques, tried to apply same, tried to manage my time, covered all areas of the questions…the least I prepared is this 4th attempt but tried every care and apply the exam techniques…on 3rd attempt, i got 49 and that was a very painful fail for me in all my ACCA experience but that gave me the encouragement to revisit my approach.. give it another chance and you will make it…Good luck!!!
If you need my advice email me through temesgengeta@yahoo.com

July 15, 2016 at 1:26 pm #325976Guys, this is my 3rd attempt of P5. This time i took all advices, apply exam techniques, manage my time and attempted all areas of the the 3 exam questions and started with the compulsory question for the first time in my ACCA exams and now I am sneefing a pass and be finalist.
However, ACCA is ACCA and you could not take for granteed and don’t worry that much. Only 2 days left and the coming is your weekend, enjoy it and remain calm but also expect the unexpected….Good luck for all of us!!!
Have a wonderful weekend!!!

June 7, 2016 at 6:15 am #320151Dear Bham, as Seanog91 advised you above all performance measurement models have their own strenths and weaknesses and there is no perfect model, “no one-size fits all” model.
The BSC is a good model that links strategy/mission with operational activities, includes all relevant variables both financial and non-financial, short-term and long term objective. However, it has its weaknesses like conflict among objectives, two many measures and lack of one agreegate measure of performance; focuses only on two stakeholders (customer and owner) and ignores others, etc.
Although performance pyramid is a good model that perfectly links stqartegic issues with operational activities and clearly show the links under each level of management, it doesn’t clearly shows measures and is not suitable for service businesses.
The building block model is a good model to measure operformances of service businesses, but is not that much good for manufacturing business.
The performance prism model is an excellent model to see analysis importance and requirements of many stakeholders and to show what the company requires from each stakeholder to build the required capacity and meet statkeholders’ requirements, but still it is short of clear measures and can’t be considered as a perfect model.
So, it depends on the scenario and the specific circumstances that we determine which model is suitable to which buiness.
Think this will give you some hint…good luck!!!

May 29, 2016 at 8:48 am #317669Dear Ken, I can’t understand the difference b/n many of the performance measurement related problems…it seems the same for me & I am not sure why the same concents are splitted into d/t things…tunnel vision, measure fixation, misrepresentation, gaming,…etc.
April 28, 2016 at 7:48 am #312911Dear Jay,

Thank you,
April 27, 2016 at 9:32 am #312821Thank you so much Jay for taking your time and share your feeling/advice. I am really standing in the middle of the road. I like the contents of the P5 paper and i read it with interest and I am sure i grasp a lot of knowledge from it. But i couldn’t make it happen. I am not yet registered for the June exam and today is the last day for me to register or not for the June sitting. Honestly, if I wish to take P6 it is highly unlikely to make it for June since only a month time is left for the exam. I opt to take P5 and see my chance but thanks to Alex Watt i lost my confidence somehow…
I don’t know what to do…but if i decide not to sit this June, most likely I will take P6 and try it for September. I haven’t used any of the online courses except taht of OT and most of them are not accessible for us (here at Ethiopia). If i decide to resit P5 this June i will be back to you for the discussion…please standby!!!

April 26, 2016 at 9:33 am #312701Hi guys,
I am about to give up this course. on my 3rd attempt, I was fully confident to get a pass mark, but i failed again with 49 and totally frustrated and upsetted…I don’t know what to do…in my last 2 attempts, I was takling tjhis papaer with my postgraduate studies and to be honest I haven’t read the text and didn’t do excercises. However, this time i was prepared well and covered almost all of the text and exam kit. But now I even don’t have the courage to register for the June exam and may be i am considerring to sit in September 2016.
I am a slow writer and usually don’t finish the ACCA exams but still I expect a pass mark in my 3rd attempt of March 2016. I am now thinking of shifting to P6 and that is why i didn’t register for June exam.
Please advise me both on my approach to P5 and my plan to shift to P6. This is the only paper i have to be a memeber of ACCA.
Thank you for your advice in advance.
March 6, 2016 at 12:58 pm #303824It depends, but start from any question (presumably the optional quations) that you are confirtable and appears easier for you

February 3, 2016 at 2:26 pm #299095Dear Shwewar, I am interested to study together and share thoughts with others. But I am a bit confused now. I am a full time worker at a busy organization and a self study student of ACCA. i have now left only this P5 paper and I really want to make it in the March sit. I have now just finished the first time reading of the text. but confused what to do next i.e. either to revise the text, go through the exam kit and practice exam questions, or go for review of my summary notes. I really need someone to share best experience at time constraint…like do this, then this, then….
Thanks,
