Dear Student,
Oxford Brookes University BSc (Hons) in Applied Accounting
Following the decision of the Oxford Brookes University BSc (Hons) in Applied Accounting Examination Board held on 23 March 2020, I regret to inform you that your Research and Analysis Project has FAILED to achieve the pass standard.
Your marker feedback will be sent to you via email by 03 April 2020. This indicates the area(s) of weakness in your Project as well as advice on how improvements can be made.
We have arranged a webinar “Resubmission of a Research and Analysis Project“, specifically for students who are thinking about re-submitting their RAP. The webinar is on : Thursday, April 02, 2020 at 09:00 AM British Summer Time. Register for the event here:
https://event.on24.com/wcc/r/2181757/0B6ABB105D4FEF3B9417D61B9064C980
For those eligible to resubmit, the Period 40 submission period opens on 01 May 2020
and closes at 13:00 hours UK time on 13 May 2020. The submission fee for P40 is £380 sterling and is payable online upon submission of a revised Research Report (RR) and/or Skills and Learning Statement (SLS). Instructions on how to submit your project will be available, from late April, here
https://www.brookes.ac.uk/acca/for-students/project-submissions/
If you have passed all elements of the RR, then you are only required to send a revised SLS upon resubmission as the grade in your previous RR attempt will be carried forward. In the same way, if you have passed all elements of the SLS, then you are only required to send a revised RR upon resubmission. However, this will be capped at a grade ‘C’. Should you have failed elements in both the RR and SLS, then you will need to resubmit both the RR and SLS and your project will be capped at a grade ‘C’. Please note that you can submit a project up to a maximum of 3 times before your eligibility for the degree programme is withdrawn.
We recommend that students update their previous research report in line with the marker/moderator comments rather than start on a new topic. In this instance, your previous pass marks will be carried forward (providing these sections are not amended) and you will only need to revise those areas that were unsuccessful. You will then be required to complete a ‘Resubmission Statement’ outlining how you have improved your work which will be uploaded with your RAP. More details on this, as well as a full resubmission guide to help you with any further attempt, can be found at:
Students are required to meet with their mentor again should they receive a ‘fail’ grade in any section of the SLS and you will be required to re-enter your mentor’s details on the registration form when you upload your project.
We hope you decide to resubmit a project to Oxford Brookes University. However, you may only do so if you are still within your allowed 10 year period in which to complete the BSc degree programme, and have not already submitted 3 times. Please note that receipt of this letter does not automatically mean that you are eligible to resubmit.
Note: this results email is being sent out over a period of 48 hours. Other students you know may not receive theirs until later.
Yours sincerely
