Let’s be honest here, ACCA is not easy… In fact it is no near easy… It is really hard and challenging. A complete struggle! And we all are struggling here to at least get that 50% so that we can move on.I know it is easier said than done but I will advise you to give it a try and don’t give up yet with just 2 papers remaining.
There are many ACCA students who are striving to pass their papers and even after multiple attempts. How many ACCA students have you come across you have passed all their papers in the first attempt? Very few!
FAILURE DOESN’T DEFINE A PERSON’S CAPABILITIES OR POTENTIAL
There must a reason for the failure… Wrong method of studying… Incorrect planning… Work/Family/Financial pressure etc… But it certainly doesn’t mean that he is dumb.
So now I will advise you to ignore everything (what your friends are saying or doing) and just focus on your goal… Which should be to become ACCA Qualified. Don’t compare your journey with anyone else’s… Everyone face issues and so everyone’s journey is unique.
Sit down with a note pad… List down all the papers who have not passed with their scores.
If you have scoresd somewhere below 40 – 45% that means you may need to work on your concepts.
If you have scored above that it means you just need to focus on practising questions.Get your concepts sorted. Watch the free videos and used the free notes of Opentuition for doing so.
Once your concepts are cleared then it should be just you and an exam kit! (from an ACCA Approved Content Provider)
Practise as many questions as you can!And mostly importantly analyse your mistakes!
-you do a set of questions(without peeking at the answers!) …
-preferably under timed conditions…
-Then check your answers…
-Analyse your mistakes (as in why did you get the answers wrong, what did they do in the solution etc)
-Make note of your mistakes in the sense which topic area you are making more mistakes (you may would want to mark yourself to know that) so that you can go back to the topic and revise it then go back to solving questions under that topic.
-Also make note of questions you may find extremely challenging and different as compared to others and look at their solutions carefully.
-Moreover, complete the question then come back go to the solution… Complete it even if you don’t know how to do it… Make a guess and then see whether you go it right or wrong…
If you got it right, why?
If you got it wrong, why?So the idea of doing all this is *Learning from your mistakes*
There must be something that you may be going wrong with… You need to just find that and fix it.
Use the free resources provided by ACCA on their website( examiner’s report, past papers, technical articles, and many more)
Finally, I personally advice people to give 1 paper per exam sitting… This helps secure a better pass as we can focus better and give the appropriate time to prepare and practice for each paper. Will advise you the same!
And if you have any queries you can certainly post it in the relevant forum.
If you wish to get more insights I have replied to a very similar question here
https://opentuition.com/topic/can-i-give-up/ do it a read when you can 🙂I, as an ACCA student myself, understand why these sort of questions are very frequently asked.
All that said, the decision is for you to make. If you wish to continue or not is for you to decide.
Hope that helps.
Yes, it is indeed difficult. I felt to tired and exhausted looking at the fail. I was angry and I didn’t want to continue as I sacrifice my job to finish this exams, little did I know, this journey drag me for more than 9 years. Its difficult for a person to have attempted exam continuously, so before I give up I guess I will be taking a break to reflect on myself. I need to definitely rethink and restart my life. I can’t be doing exam thoughout my whole life. Its sad when the effort and the sacrifice you put in didn’t reward you. Anyway thank you for answering!

How many papers you have left ? Don’t give up . Sit back rethink revise your strategy and take a different route to that failing paper , you can do it !!Hi, I’m left with the last 2 papers Aaa and afm.i guess I will be taking a break in between, I feel I’m too tired of this. I have spend my years as full timer and yet I couldn’t achieve my goal. I will take a time to think abt what to do next. Thank you!

Point is what else you have planned to do? will you be successful there? are you failing with marginal numbers?I was finlaist since 2017 my last paper left and failed it 10 times and finally passed this December, I am not a full time student not a young, have young family and many people younger then me already qualified, so if I can do it you can too, try changing your strategy. if you doing AAA go with Kashif Kamran, he is the most praised tutor I have seen here.
Congratulations on passing your last paper. I am happy for you. Being a full timer with no job makes me feel frustrated becoz of this difficult exam I choose not to work and continue to study with the hope I will finish my examination soon and can start a job but now that I keep failing and I feel like my whole effort is wasted. I have afm and Aaa as my last paper. Thinking about it, I guess I will take some time off to think about it. Thank you!
October 14, 2019 at 4:46 am #549287Congratulations on passing your p7. You’re so lucky. Thanks for the advice. I’m still contemplating on what to do but I guess I will go for both.
October 14, 2019 at 2:32 am #549252Bobby1610, I’m okay with my fundamentals papers but I’m screwing it up in my options paper like for audit I flung it the 3rd attempt. So I’m a bit worried will there be enough time as I can feel p4 is quite bulky
October 13, 2019 at 6:26 am #548962Less than 24 hours for results to come and I’m really hoping to see the word pass. 4th attempt of AAA
