okay, I understand that the amount of fixed overheads absorbed is the actual hours worked multiplied by the standard fixed overheads per hour.

But how do you know in this case it’s over or under-absorbed? Normally I can do such kind of cases but in this case, I am a little bit confused that’s why I am asking.

How do you know that they were expecting higher output?

Why they don’t divided on expected output instead of actual output?

can you explain why you added 20,000? (The average investment = (300,000 + 20,000) / 2 = 160,000)

I guess 20,000 is scrap value, and thus it’s included in 300,000 why are we adding it again?

I thought 300,000 should be divided by 2…. can you explain the concept of this calculation?

Abnormal loss in the first case was 20… because they deducted normal loss from process 1… And additional material is added after deduction. And in the second case they at first summed up and then deducted normal loss. And I am a little bit confused.
