Has anyone encountered a NPV question like that one that appeared in the Sept exam..it was a super weird question. I have not seen anything like it .
January 14, 2021 at 8:48 pm #605867Is it fair to say we decide in which submission period we are going to submit and then go back 5 years from that date and see if we have 3 passes to demonstrate currency of knowledge ?
January 14, 2021 at 3:07 pm #605812Thank you for the clarification. I am hoping to complete all 6 skills exam by June this yr and submit in the November 2021 period. So even if I find myself in a position where I have to resubmit in may 2022 since I would have passed 6 exams in maybe a year I shouldn’t have a problem right according to what you have said ?
Won’t ACCA or OBU update their websites to reflect this very important change ? I read about this new rule in a forum and became aware of it. If not I would have given up on attaining this degree as my.10 year registration expired.
January 14, 2021 at 11:24 am #605781You have misread my question. I didn’t enquire about submitting the RAP first and then passing the exams, that would be absurd given that the skills level subjects marks are used to calculate the grade.
By future I meant if a student can pass 3 skills or strategic level exams after this new rule has been implemented and be eligible to submit the RAP – say for eg a students 10 year eligibility period has expired but he or she has only passed the knowledge level and one skills level subject. So my question is can a student pass the other skills level subject in the FUTURE and be eligible ? Hope this clears up the misunderstanding.
January 13, 2021 at 9:42 pm #605747And if u meet all the other eligibility criteria.
January 13, 2021 at 9:39 pm #605746Where does it say ? That’s not correct. The new rule is if your 10 year period has expired, u get an extension by passing 3 skills or professional level subjects within 5 years of the Rap submission
January 13, 2021 at 5:10 pm #605733Please clarify what the yes is for.
January 4, 2021 at 11:30 am #601416Should I have ALREADY passed 3 subjects or can I pass in the future as long as it’s within 5 years of submission of my RAP?
December 28, 2020 at 1:56 pm #601061Thanks for your response but you have misunderstood my question. I asked about the new rule regarding the eligibility criteria for the OBU degree
December 27, 2020 at 5:08 pm #600991Hi thanks I did post there. But if you can answer my question it would be helpful
December 27, 2020 at 4:20 pm #600988Hi,
Can someone help me understand what the extension to the 10 year rule for the OBU degree is – specifically what does it mean when they say a student should have passed 3 skills or professional level exams in the last 5 years before their submission date – which 5 years are they referring to and do we decide our own submission date ?
Please clarify this. Thanks
December 26, 2020 at 7:34 pm #600925Hi,
My 10 year period expired in June 2020. May I know if I am eligible for the OBU degree under the new rule ?
This is where I stand – in the 10 year period since I registered as an ACCA student I sat for the Tax and FM exams once each and was unsuccessful I’m both. I didn’t attempt any other exams as I was overwhelmed with work.
Since this pandemic began I have decided to pursue ACCA again. May I know if I complete all 9 knowledge and skills level exams in 2020/2021, if I can submit my RAP in the November 2021 submission period?
What does completing 3 ACCA exams in the last 5 years mean – since no specific dates are given does this mean say for eg if I want to submit in the NoVember 2021 period I should have 3 passes in skills/professional level subjects in the period between November 2016 and November 2021?
Thanks
December 5, 2018 at 7:18 pm #487696Also I have the Kaplan revision kit which is valid until June 2017. Can I use this for the March 2019 exam?
December 5, 2018 at 7:06 pm #487691I meant to say I have not attempted F7 yet nor do I have any F7 knowledge
October 14, 2018 at 4:29 pm #477979Thanks I appreciate it. So I should get the latest revision kit only?
October 10, 2018 at 1:37 pm #477061Thanks! So there have been no changes since June 2017 upto now?
October 10, 2018 at 6:12 am #477004Also May I know if it’s possible to show the workings on the spreadsheet like I would do on the paper based exam without using any formulae etc…will I still get full marks? I am just not comfortable with the formulae
January 30, 2017 at 6:59 pm #370305Hi..won’t I need the new textbook also as there seem to be significant changes to income tax?
January 28, 2017 at 9:18 am #370032Hi, thanks for the response. Where can I read about the changes that you have mentioned? I want to see if it’s complicated. If it is I would like to apply for the March session before the deadline.
August 1, 2016 at 10:20 pm #330752Thanks for your response. Can you please tell me if there are any changes in the way losses are relived for individuals and companies ( I have mastered the June method so please tell me it’s the same for September!!! Also the capital allowance computations..any changes from June to sept?
May 28, 2016 at 11:32 pm #317842Hi so just to clarify apart from the above mentioned chapters, all the other chapters will have significant changes for the sept 2016 exam?
March 1, 2016 at 10:18 am #302776we don’t show the existing wc as an outflow but when recovering we recover the existing wc plus the incremental – is that right?
March 1, 2016 at 4:34 am #302725Hi john, if wc is to be recovered at the end of the project and there is existing wc before the project begins ( as in the sept/ dec paper) do we show the existing wc as an outflow ?
February 27, 2016 at 5:15 pm #302338Last qn regarding wc ( promise!)..if the qn says the machine is just for one off production but there is some existing wc and this will increase in line with general inflation, do we recover only the incremental wc or the existing wc as well?
February 26, 2016 at 8:32 pm #302240Hi john, under what circumstances do we recover the working capital at the end of the project? If u look at the June 2011 paper the qn doesn’t explicitly state wc is recovered at the end of the project but in the suggested answer it has been recovered..but in the sept/ dec hybrid paper it has not been recovered( qn is silent again)..pls clarify its doing my head in!!! Thanks
