April 6, 2012 at 1:02 am #90030Hi Mike,
I’ve looked at the answer from Kaplan ( Q10 2012) and answer from ACCA website. Both of them used current interest rate 10% to discount the CF to get NPV since the bond is classified at FVTPL.
Any comments?
Thanks,April 5, 2012 at 7:59 pm #95616Hi
The total RE of Decany = 750( per q)+25 ( div received from Ceed)+ 3 profit made from selling Rant to Ceed on paper( 98 paid to Rant and 95 was the initial cost ) – 2 ( restructuring cost)

November 6, 2011 at 12:08 am #89347Hi,
I think it means if your borrowing cost is lower than the profit you are making from the borrowed money. Your ROCE will be higher.
October 28, 2011 at 5:56 pm #88956hi,
I thought NBV after 4 years = cost – Acc dep amount
=112-26.88=85.12it seems they mentioned the useful life = 6years ( how about current year, than the NPV= NPV y0+ NPV Y1+……
NPV Y5( total 6 years)They didn’t mention if the assets scrap value has changed or not.
the remaining unamortized amount = 85.12- scrap value ( if any) /6 = New Dep.P.AOctober 8, 2011 at 8:27 pm #88446hi

September 25, 2011 at 8:24 pm #88348Hi,
1)Re McArdle’s case
There was no consideration from her when the rest of family promised to pay her the expenses for painting her mother- in- law’s house.Because she painted the house first ( anyway) without an agreement of payment from the rest of the family. That’s why she lost the case.
2) Foakes V Berr Case
We have a contract that I will pay you say $ 2000 in 3 months time. Although later on I put pressure on you and force you to agree that you will get your money back in one year. But I didn’t give you any thing for return for your extension of my debts. You can sue me for the interest you lost on the debt. But If let’s say, I offered to clean your garden or file your y/e tax return form for you in return. Then, you can’t sue me for the interest.July 17, 2011 at 8:00 pm #80249July 17, 2011 at 1:26 pm #83294there is type there:

SueJune 10, 2011 at 2:22 pm #82795Hi Steve,
Full time trainers are paid 200 by Li as well. I assume they have permanent contact. That means if they are not asked to give trainings. They will still get paid.
If li has spare capacity. The relevant cost for Li will be 250 ( incremental, training).not sure.

May 26, 2011 at 8:55 pm #82334hi,
good questions. My thoughts:
1) IBA – should be available for second hand buildings as well I think, I do’t remember specially mentioned IBA only applicable for new buildings.2) I can imagine that gift to charity will be exempt, but possibly depends on what kind of charity.
3) if you mean you can claim ER if you hold shares > 5%, plus working there.will check up further when I am doing my revision.
