Because:-
Cost of Capital is WACC———–WACC is abbreviation of “Weighted Avg Cost of Capital”
Cost of Capital includes both 1) cost of equity and 2) cost of debt
So to calculate Cost of Capital (WACC) you will use 1) cost of equity and 2) cost of debt; in the WACC formula.
I know its prohibited to answer in Ask th Tutor section but, I have replied because exam is so near
August 18, 2014 at 3:14 pm #191344I was a student of Period 26 and I used 2010, 2011, 2012 and not interim statements.
Unless there is a new rule in OBU BSc Pack, you should be ok by working on 2011, 2012, 2013August 17, 2014 at 7:17 am #190629Thankyou!
August 16, 2014 at 2:12 pm #190527On a completely different topic,
I have not received my transcript, only received my Certificate.
Could you know of any reason ?
Can you guide me on what i should do to get my Transcript?August 15, 2014 at 5:54 pm #190430Thankyou Trephena for always helping us out 😀
August 15, 2014 at 5:54 pm #190429There are 2 parts:
Financial Analysis for which i used Ratio analysis (+Trends)
Business Analysis for which i used SWOT + PESTIts actually the word count!
Let me clear it, if we use too many ,models we will surpass the word limit however if we use a few models but research and write worth and good content, thats a PASSAugust 15, 2014 at 5:30 pm #190425Regarding no clue from where to start at all…. read the BSC pack complete from start to end…..and thats when it all begins! Enjoy 😀
August 15, 2014 at 5:25 pm #190424Well, if u have studied SWOT and PEST and/or similar models, e.g in A levels, then u should definitely start IMMEDIATLY and if you have not studied them ever before then giving P3 will make researching for the RAP a whole lot easier!
July 23, 2014 at 2:35 pm #179507Yup its acceptable Dont worry

I will try as much as i can. I have P7 and P4 exams also so i was trying to focus hard on that side.
I still did used to visit OT and read the queries it was really good to see someone helping the students out there :D. and not only helping but helping with clear and precise and detailed answers.

May 22, 2014 at 11:49 am #170087i uploaded .pptx with ease Its all ok.
May 21, 2014 at 5:11 pm #169957Yes we can!
April 24, 2014 at 1:30 pm #166115Reduce part 2 by 200 words or even more! Part 3 is the important one like trephena said :))
April 24, 2014 at 1:23 pm #166113Exactly! pg. 9 (or pg. 12) has the precise answer 😀
April 24, 2014 at 1:19 pm #166112I read pg. 37 or (pg. 40) of the info pack. You are correct that the Title and Table of content are not in Part 1,
however, all words except Appendices and Reference list are included in the word count 😀 thus Title and Table of content also.
Don’t worry, my Title + Table of content were larger so i compressed my table of content by writing like “Ratio analysis pg 12” instead of “Profitability ratios pg.13 Liquidity ratios pg.16 Investor ratios pg. 21”
Then after compressions like these, it became 140 words approx. only.
Try changing the sentences without losing their meanings like i showed right now.
April 24, 2014 at 12:17 pm #166100Joelprof12, Title page and Table of content, in the word count, are included!
Its ONLY the appendices AND reference LIST which are NOT included in the word count. (2 things)
Also, words and numbers like 2000, in graphs and tables (inside your RAP) are included in the word count! –
Can you please tell me how much are your words in Part 1 + Part 2, together.
Mine were Part 1 – 950 words, Part 2 – 1860 words, Part 3 – 4440 words
Total RR 7240 words approx. Can you please tell me how much are your words in Part 1 + Part 2, together?
April 24, 2014 at 11:46 am #166094Instead of (See Appendix A, Part D) if you write (Appendix A, Part D) you would save one word every time.
In Period 27 when i submitted my RAP i had 4 Appendices (4 .xls files):
Appendix A —– which contained some ratios
Appendix B —– which contained some other ratios
Appendix D —– which contained SOFP (balance sheets)
Appendix E —– which contained income statementsSo may be instead of (Appendix A, Part D) you could write (Appendix D) or similar, thus you would save 2 words every time.
Also you don’t need to write it in your Reference list, you only need to cite, which you have done above.
April 14, 2014 at 2:18 pm #165265(1) (ABC, 2013, p.70), Not in the list, just in the RR.
(2) nop, alphabetical sequence is not required in the situation that you are talking about, on pg.58 what is written is different than what you thought is written. 😀
(3) i think pdf link will be better if there are more than 1 similar pdf files on that section of website.
(4) i believe stating “please refer appendix for all the numerical figures, tables and graphs.” might be incorrect, so after every figure just write e.g (Appendix A)
To reduce your word count, when you finish writing your RR, begin reading your RR from start, compressing your sentences, till the end of the RR, then repeat the whole process again till you reach your target of 7500 limit, or 7400 just to be safe, as you might know, that words in graphs etc are included in the word count.
April 14, 2014 at 12:46 pm #165260@Kings And Queens you are correct, i am very sorry, my Reply was not about your post, my Reply was an answer to the question of @luv2break
I am honestly sorry about confusing u 😀
April 14, 2014 at 9:44 am #165250I really dont know about that 😀
Post a new topic so someone might answer.
April 13, 2014 at 7:30 am #165161According to your marker’s comments, you really need to google the reasons of changes in your ratios, e.g. profits, share price etc.
Don’t only see the first page of google, also go further, see the second page third page so on.
You might want to use MS Word’s internal referencing system, it makes life a lot easier and faster.
April 12, 2014 at 3:04 pm #165129sales have increased by 10% in 2012 compared to 2011 (Appendix E)….
similar to this, is how i referenced my statements in my RR, Research Report.Appendix E is where the income statements were put into, by me, from the original Annual reports.
Appendix E was in excel format, and all the other appendices (3 others) were in excel format too.O no :D. you must find on financial websites like bloomberg and news websites like bbc etc that why has profits decreased in 2012.
you can search online by typing in google “profit decreased 2012”.
Google is a very good helper. Can i read your “marker comments”, maybe you can ‘copy paste’.
