Yup, good luck for results!
December 4, 2023 at 6:51 pm #696051Yes I did adjust it.. I took only the controllable costs…
I think it should be okay if justification is provided for assumptions right?
December 4, 2023 at 6:50 pm #696050Yes… just gave a brief explanation and explained how budgets implications would differ… cost control etc… now don’t know if the answer is relevant at all.. I honestly don’t know where I stand with this sitting… can only wait for results day!
What’s good is that first part was general then applied to the divisions…
For q2 struggled a bit with the metrics…was working on that itself when exam ended
December 4, 2023 at 6:39 pm #696046What did you get for Q2 divisional performance ?
I got metrics in bbm for determinants and how they could affect results… to evaluate same and justify any metric that doesn’t seem suitable and suggest a new one
December 4, 2023 at 6:36 pm #696043Ri being positive so good performance , and briefly explained what ri calculates.. using controllable profits…
But word of caution for the use of outdated cost of capital for imputed interest… ROI I don’t remember the figures being less…I think I said all performance good… and greater than the 9% so division performance good.. thought whether must mention the dysfunctional behaviour roi could bring…but didn’t do so…December 4, 2023 at 6:29 pm #696039The different mgt styles were to be explained and assess what type of mgt would better suit the porters strategic direction right ?
I just explained the styles and linked to cost differentiation & leadership and explained why…and based it on what they said each cleaning division had as strategy and focus… I don’t know now ????
I skimmed read Q2… I didn’t practice much on that area and knew I would have taken more time so jumped to Q3…to try and score some marks… the roi and ri were pretty direct right? Even though the cost of capital was very out of date…. what was your take on it?
December 4, 2023 at 6:25 pm #696038Yes i got same thing $40 per unit… however I put assumption that the 0.1% training wasn’t mentioned that it was directly related to product cc 4400…so removed it hence answer was $69 cost gap…
The financial benchmarking was okay given points were given how operations etc differ..zbb okay ,kaizen rushed it a bit as I was way beyond time and had just 47 mins left…I don’t know if I scored enough to pass with Q 1 & 3. I hope I did, otherwise… retake… shame, because i just ran out of time..the paper wasn’t difficult..just maybe practice within time frame wasn’t enough during the prep!
December 4, 2023 at 5:28 pm #696026Yup…. with Hopwood management style… and Q 1 on benchmarking etc , kaizen …
Ran out of time for Q1… couldn’t do Q2…opted for Q3 with roi ri to do within limited time that was left. Disappointed with the bad time mgt.

I have contacted ACCA yesterday and was told to clear cookies and cache on my browser and close same and try again afterwards.
The lady had already added it on my planner when I explained the issue, and after following the instructions I was able to access the same.
I was told there could have been an issue on the web browser so clearing cookies and cache and closing the browser are helpful.October 19, 2020 at 8:28 am #590240april04 wrote:april04 wrote: received the email and failed. Unfortunately deleted the email so i don’t even have a proof
Does the above link I posted help in any way?

I don’t know if this might help you. If it is automatically deleted then you cannot recover the email it seems, but given you deleted perhaps these could help. Sorry if it doesn’t.
October 19, 2020 at 1:46 am #590076Indeed , many approaches to sbl! But one must stick to what they feel more comfortable with. As much time can be lost trying different ways (I myself lost time understanding how to approach the syllabus and questions along side in a short time frame before exam as I couldn’t do just all of it).
Congrats.October 19, 2020 at 1:27 am #590061Passed SBL 56% second attempt! Still under a shock a bit….a huge pressure off! Only one paper left now!
For those who didn’t make it successfully, please don’t be disheartened! Plan your time well and keep a good time mgt. Write as much as you can (apply the models and read model answers) and in a good flow.
I hope these help even if might sound very “light” tactics.Congrats to those who cleared it.
October 18, 2020 at 9:41 pm #589824Going to try catch some sleep, good luck all!

Don’t be disheartened , dont lose hope nor the motivation. No one ever said acca is an easy journey. Its definitely worth it when you see that Pass message and become an affiliate and member! Your hard work will pay off…I’m myself awaiting for SBL results. I took sbl last year in Sept but due to working for long extended hours till only 4 days before exam I didnt study well for it and didnt pass it last year. And this year I found the paper quite heavy compared to last Sept. I really hope I’ve cleared sbl in this attempt… only apm left which will be given in March due to study leave being denied at work for Dec sitting, but I really don’t want a resit for sbl. So many things relying on this exam results.
Fingers crossed for tonight’s results!Good luck all and congrats to all finalists who got their email!
October 14, 2020 at 5:51 pm #588906Thank you ! Indeed, trying to gain unauthorised access to results is absolutely wrong.
As much as getting the results right away would have alleviated the stress, we shall all respect the date and patiently wait.Good luck everyone!
October 14, 2020 at 10:31 am #588848Hello All,
I have seen the number 1 next to My Qualifications. Gave SBL in Sept and have APM to go with. Does this mean anything about passing SBL and having only one exam left ie APM please?
Anyone else who has more than a paper left who has more than the figure 1?
So stressed! If only could get the results right away!
September 9, 2020 at 8:44 am #584305Apologies for the question mark. Was supposed to be a thumbs up.
Fingers crossed whatever I wrote earns me enough to pass… It was a very stressful and heavy paper.
September 9, 2020 at 5:03 am #584264Thats great ?
I hope mine make sense as well and I earn some marks.
September 8, 2020 at 6:00 pm #584180Had sat for SBL last Sept but with no such preparation. I feel last year’s paper was definitely easier than this one.
Technology application..I wrote virtual educational programmes, rate and family pack rates for different screen’s visits, online shop with maybe half price postal cost for inland shopping, and virtual visit of the wildlife park. No idea if that answered the question. Was running out of time and had to attempt questions 3 & 4.
What did you guys write?
August 9, 2020 at 9:06 am #579695Thank you so much for your help.
Yes, I will definitely move around as soon as I can to cover the PER and find a job in a relevant field with regard to ACCA qualification.
Thank you so much once again.
Have a nice Sunday.
