Thanks Megand. I justified bespoke software rather than off the shelf because:

    – The customers wanted to know when organisation was raising its funds hence bespoke would be beneficial as it is developed by customers requirements.
-By developing bespoke software would mean that the organisation would be the supplier (Owner) of the sofware. Hence no escrow agreement would be required as the supplier would not cease trading with the organisation. This would reduce cost.
    – Due to bespoke software being developed through customers requirements this would reduce maintenance cost such as users training as some of the staff would be aware of how to operate the software.
-The charitable organisation was lacking IT Support, Hence this would have an impact on the functionality of the off the shelf software as it requires technical support to avoid technical hardware/Software faults.

Hope this is correct and i have justified well! Please do reply if i am correct?

From what I remember, I believe they asked us to justify using COTS over Bespoke Software.

Your point with being unable to budget cashflows due to flexibility allowed is an excellent point! I could have only come up with the decrease in the car leases in their portfolio for weaknesses.
