The exam was not a bad exam at all but I have to agree with everyone else, it needed to be aleast 3.5 hours due the amount of calculations required. But I’m sure if I practiced sticking to the 1.8 mins per mark it would have been fine…but still! Not easy to stick to the 1.8 mins per mark!
August 15, 2017 at 4:27 am #401886I agree with temyloluwah2 its not all about the questions its about understanding what you are doing, if you dont understand what you are doing you wont be able to apply your knowledge to any question.(By just doing the questions you are training yourself to memerise how to get the answer and not helping you understand why you got that answer)
The key is to identify areas that you dont competely understand and work on those areas to figure out what about them you dont understand.
I found that i was able to identify these areas by doing the practice question from the ACCA site (they charge 14 pounds for a set of 3 practice exams and is so worth it especially since its so cheap!) What the practice exams does, is put you under real examination exam conditions and at the end of the exam it will provide you with a breakdown of the topics that were covered in the exam and then tell you how well you did in each area from there you will figure out your weak spots.
But at the end of the day try not to get too discouraged, there will be trials and errors so you should learn from them and adjust the way you study if necessary – Dont look at them as a failure but a lesson. 🙂
