check the acca exemption database to see if your degree and university is listed. You can technically get upto 4 papers (F1,2,3,4) exempted with a B.Com in accounting, but usually its just 2 or 3 (from F1,2,3). You need to get transcripts from your university and post them to ACCA by snail mail – and only then will they consider your exemption request. All this can take time, so December 2011 seems unlikely anyway, or the exam fees might be at the higher slab in case you want to go for it (plus extra annual fees).

Just aim for 2012 June, and try to get done with transcripts, exemptions etc as quickly as you can! 😀

i also passed P2, P5 and P7 with full time job – i gave 470 hours preparation over 6 months – around 1 hour weekdays and 6 hours weekends. it was gruelling and had to sacrifice social life, family life etc.

If you can self-motivate, then go for it, else do two. a compromise approach would be prepare 2 papers really well so that they give a great shot at passing, and prepare the 3rd paper with whatever time is left and then hope for the best!

Do F7 and F8 definitely as F8 paper might have some qs that require F7 knowledge. Try to do F9 (numerical) with P1 or P3 (theoretical), or maybe with P2 (which draws from F7 knowledge).

    this was a sh*t paper.
then again, i am partly to blame. i covered all accounting standards EXCEPT construction – since i read somewhere P7 would follow P2 syllabus, and construction is out of P2 syllabus currently. needless to say, had forgotten how to deal with it.
and like an idiot i started out with Qs 1 and got stuck. that set the tempo for the rest of the exam and although i did answer about 85, the examiner would have difficulties figuring if i wrote the end parts in english or hebrew. 🙁

see you all next time! 🙂

Get done with F6 since (in my opinion) its the easiest to pass – its very lengthy – but with good preparation this paper is difficult to fail. Along with it, If you like numerical stuff more, take F5 and F9, and if you like theoretical more, take F4 and F8.

Alternately, choose F6 and along with it 1 essay type and 1 numerical paper. Try to make a strategy that works best for you.

F7 is lengthy and complicated and now is too late to start. But F7 is a crucial paper for progressing into and opening up P level papers, so dont leave it for too late (like I had done and suffered) – definitely try to attempt F7 in the Dec sitting. All the best!
