June 22, 2015 at 11:57 am #258477Agree with the advice above take a break from the study for a while !! now that exams are every quarter you don’t have to wait for six months for the next sitting.
Once you feel recharged go for it again big time, your only one away it’s not as if you have 6 exams left!!!
what was the highest mark you got in P5 before switching to P6 ???
Personally I would persevere with P5 as you have a general knowledge of this already!!!!When I failed one of my papers I used the terrible feeling I got when I failed as motivation when studying for the resit !!!
Stay positive your nearly there, youv’e done the vast majority of the hard work

onwardsFebruary 14, 2014 at 2:29 pm #158753you could do the p2 int variant course at your college but enter yourself for the p2 uk variant exam, both exams are basically the same from what i gather. just buy a text book and look over the uk stuff in the text book
February 14, 2014 at 1:37 pm #158744just been on to ACCA
they said that to get peactising cert for audit in uk you have to do uk variant for P2 and P7
as I want to work in tax in the uk I can do the P2 Int variant and P6 option
February 10, 2014 at 11:56 am #157690Hello,
Failed P2 this summer 44%, Only have P2 and the two option papers left.
I studied using only open tuition notes, video lectures and BPP revision book. I must admit that I did find P2 the most difficult so far, however I also failed F7 first time so it may just be me !!!
I believe that it is possible to pass just with the open tuition notes however I got my strategy wrong this time, I got bogged down with Cashflows, Consolidated I/S and SOFP and did not give enough time to the IFRS’s and IAS’s whch is Q2 and Q3 !!!!
Next time will focus much more on the IFRS and IAS and try to pick up the easy marks on Q1
All the bestFebruary 8, 2014 at 12:57 am #156249Pass 53%
February 8, 2014 at 12:55 am #156240Fail 44% , however passed P3 53% so a mixed bag for me. Bit off more than I could chew trying two exams ! lesson learnt for next sitting

Many thanks for the kind words , I am definately going to email OBU just incase however im not holding out much hope.
my own fault for quitting my studies for eight yearsSeptember 24, 2013 at 6:34 pm #141201FAIL
My first and only attempt (10 year rule)
Failed evaluation, analysis and conclusion partrequired more analysis of ratio results, I should have researched the reasons for the changes and not use phrases like “this suggests” and “or possible reason for”
Failed SLS Part communication skills
needed to show more actual results on the slidesGutted as marker said that it would not take much work to bring project up to pass standard(little did they know it was my only attempt at this.
Onwards now and try my best to pass P2 and P3 this June
Congrats to all that passed and heads up to all that failed this time
August 8, 2013 at 1:32 pm #136498This is my experience of studying ACCA
Having decided to restart my studies 2 1/2 Years ago I decided to try self study as I am in full time employment.
My usual regime for every exam is I study around 2 hours per week from about 4 months out, then I up the work load in the last month.
In the exam week (depending on which day exam is) I take two days off work to study all day and into the evening.
I buy BPP study text and revision KIT
My main study resource however are the video lectures on Open tuition, I find them Invaluable and in my opinion self study for me would be much much more difficult without the online video lectures.I believe that my knowledge of syllabus isn’t the best however exam technique is vital and the open tuition lectures are extremely helpfull in gaining exam technique e.g Time allocation – If your time is up on a question you must leave it and continue on to next question. What I do is leave a bank space for it and if I have time to return I fill the blank in at the end.
I always review my paper at the end for anything really silly that ive put in or to fill a blank with anything I think could be relevant.(I firmly believe that doing this has gained me the extra mark that has resulted in my passing an exam)
since iv’e restarted study i’ve attempted 8 exams and passed 7 (4 to go)
motivation to study for me comes from the fact that i am paying for the exams and the books, my bosses at work offered to pay however i refused as it would be easier not to study if i wasn’t paying for the exams. The one exam I failed has also acted as a motivation for me as I never want to have that sinking feeling when I received the result and whenever I don’t feel like studying I just think about the time I failed the exam.
I also try to cut the amount of work down into managable bits i.e Dont try to think about all 14 exams otherwise it’s all too much !!! just think about the next exam and ignore all else.
I don’t believe that im the brightest spark in the world and my pass marks range from 50% (yesterday P1) to 70% F1 and 64% in F9.
It’s all about hard graft and using your time to the fullest

April 11, 2013 at 4:51 pm #122188Hi all
I am also worried about this, im confused with group structrue and problems that arise with PEST, Five forces & SWOT analysis. I have been considering Morrisons and possibly comparing with either Tesco or Sainsbury. It seems to me that finding a ltd company not within a group structure is very difficult !!!
Also are there any issues if a company is based in several countries or is it better to choose a company based solely in one country i.e Morrisons(UK)
