Same here – even posted on the poll after the exam to say I definitely failed… ended up with 78% even though it felt like it went badly!

Found it very difficult unfortunately- think this will be my first fail and will be gutting as it has the potential to be my last exam.

Intrigued to see how others found it. I should have studied residency and Domicile status more, featured fairly heavily in my exam.

    Passed with 83%

What a weird exam – very little syllabus knowledge required and mostly lift and shift from the extracts into an answer.

Condolences for anyone who didn’t get the news they were hoping for. However, you have experienced the new syllabus and there is a lot of useful discussion on here that can help you pass it next time around.

Further to my messages on here, passed with 83%.

Still think that was a very weird exam, so much lift and shift from the text into the answers and very little syllabus knowledge required!

The question was how it can support Corjetz. However I did also give some risks associated to it to balance the argument.

All the Disruptive technology was given to you in the extract

    Personally thought the following:

    1) The pre-seen was largely redundant in use other than to give you a feel for the industry. (Lots of the detail around CorJetz was repeated in the extracts)

    2) There was lots of lift and shift from the extracts given into the answers. So much so it felt a little concerning, but felt like a case of lift the relevant sentence/point and add detail for more or less every question.

    3) Required very little syllabus knowledge (due to point 2)

Im wary of how I did because it didn’t feel challenging in any way. Im a fast typer so pretty much finished with 20 mins to go back and add some notes and correct some spelling / sentence structure. Have passed all exams first time relatively comfortably and would be gutted if this one is the straw that broke the camels back!

I certainly found SBR almost impossible!

Glad to see it was voted the hardest, I assume ACCA may increase marks on this basis, but even still im sure ive failed.

I have passed all exams first time to date, this was my second professional level paper after AAA.

The examiner put too much emphasis on edge of the scope questions in my opinion, doubt the pass rate will be 50% plus like it usually is!

Section A and B were reasonably smooth, quite a lot of theory questions in there.

    Section C:
    1) A working capital question which I found extremely tough. Even had the audacity to call the company Banter Co. Nothing banter about it!

    2) An NPV calculation with delayed tax and directiors which refused projects that had a payback of more than 2 years. All in all not too bad but the usual acca excel limitations made it frustrating.

Quite frustrating that the cost of capital was more or less omitted from my whole exam!
