Hi Trephena,Firstly I would like to thank you for all your help you are and have been offering to hundreds of clueless student like myself.
Secondly, this was my first submission and unfortunately I failed in 3 parts as follows:
1. Application of accountancy/business models (FAIL)
Your application of your Porters 5 forces model is weak. A lot more could have been made of Power of Customers and Threat of Substitutes given Tesco’s problems within the UK. There is little sign of referenced research in this section.
2. Evaluation of information, analysis and conclusions (FAIL)
Beyond your section on sales growth your financial analysis is little more than a description of ratio movement. This is not analysis, you need to be researching the way business decisions and strategies of the company have affected the results taking into account the effect of competitors, the market, the economy and government decisions. This research should provide your analysis and should be referenced on a consistent and regular basis throughout your RAP.
3. Information gathering and referencing (FAIL)
I understood what marker meant under this area.
Trephena, any ideas on how can I research on porters 5 forces analysis on parts mentioned by examiner are welcomed.
And regarding failure no. 2 other than sales growth analysis I could not find anything else other than to compare ratios with comparator and concluding good or bad. Considering markers comments please outline what I should be looking for.
Thank you again.
I can tell you if we could swap marker perhaps both of us would pass. My marker commented I have not used sufficient accounting ratios while I used six of them. 🙁
September 25, 2016 at 9:03 am #341621Have anyone heard about successful academic appeal against failed grade in RAP?

Hi Rizhawk,Did the examiner really say that? What was the context? Some markers are known to make wry comments.
The Learning Luminarium
Kind of that He mentioned my research was interesting and contained a range of high level of analysis but he couldn’t understand because it was too difficult and it took much time to understand for him/her so he/she didn’t bother to understand wasting his/her time. So he/she failed me.

I’m frankly not satisfied with the marker’s comments on my failure report and I want to claim against him. I need to know two things1.How do I claim ?
2.In my claim , can I use other samples to explain how the marker graded them differently.
Some of my friends who gave obu way back in time had done the same mistakes I did but the marker passed them with ease.
Infact a friend of mine was graded a pass on his presentation in this same september attempt and the marked failed me there the reason he gave was because one of my axis was not labelled and my friend’s 9 out of 12 were not labelled yet he passed him.My mentor told me not to do this as they would drag my friend here(Although he too had an overall failure grade) My mentor said that they would press charges against my friend for showing me his failure report and RAP even after the result.
Please help me out here.
You can make an academic appeal based on three grounds:
1. You need to show the marker has not complied with academic regulation e.g. not abide the marking criteria,
2. The marker was biased and
3. There was some administrative error or irregularities in the conduct of the assessment. You cannot make an academic appeal based on academic arguments.
If you want to appeal you can consult with a professional however, it is very costly. Here is the website of a professional firm: https://www.academicappeals.co.uk/

STUDENTS ARE ADVISED NOT TO SHARE WORK. You could find that someone else uses it, attempts to sell it, reproduces it and ultimately you could find yourself under investigation from the OBU Academic Conduct OfficeYOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!
Is there any provision in the academic regulation of OBU that I can’t give my work to a friend for reference purposes?

You cant simply appeal just because examiner has failed you until there is actually a reason other than academic judgement..Post examiner comment with us. May be we can guide you something
You can post again and we can discuss.

September 21, 2016 at 9:55 am #341184I am seeking advice for appeal against their decision or review option. Can someone please advise. Thank you.
April 11, 2016 at 1:58 am #309670Sorry for that. Many thanks indeed.
April 10, 2016 at 10:13 am #309616I have used my tabular data prepared through Excel in the results section as an image which does not count the words. Is this process allowed? Advice will be highly appreciated. Thank you.
April 10, 2016 at 6:38 am #309604Hi, I am doing research on Topic 8. I have used several business and accounting models for my project e.g. PESTLE, Porter’s Five Forces and The Balanced Scorecard. I have attached a comprehensive list of Porter’s Five Forces e.g. different factors under each forces and also have developed a Balanced Scorecard model specific for my research context with a list of different performance measure under the four perspective. These lists in a tabular format I have attached in appendix. Is this OK to do so. Any advise will be highly appreciated. Thank you.
