Passing the OBU research paper is not just about your research skills, knowledge and choice of a good topic and organisation. It’s also about finding the right mentor who can properly guide you and critique your work to make sure its high quality (one that will give you a Pass mark and also one that you will be proud of submitting). Unfortunately, I learned this the hard way with wasted time and money on my first attempt back in 2015. I gave up halfway through. I was just utterly overwhelmed and discouraged to even finish it because the mentor I had, which my school provided, just didn’t care about even commenting on my work.
I mustered the courage to do it again for the P44 submission just right before my 10-year limit lapsed. Luckily this time, I found Gillian Moorse on google. She was vouched well by other students on the OpenTuition forums. And true indeed, she is one of the Best in Class mentors out there!!! I got an A grade for my research and therefore received an Upper Second Class Honours! I never thought it was possible especially when I had to do the paper whilst preparing for my last ACCA exam. I was clueless on the first two drafts but Gillian patiently saw me through until I had a complete grasp of everything. She replied promptly to my emails and thoroughly assessed my written drafts at a top-notch level. I learned so much from her expertise on Topic 17! I am highly recommending her to anyone here who is looking for a good RAP mentor!
