Though I have not personally relied on Opentuition to pass F3/FFA, from looking at the course materials offered here it does indeed seem possible as they do cover enough. Good luck!

I don’t think they cover quite all (BPP covers absolutely everything) but they definitely cover enough to pass this exam! They focus on the more examined areas so they are safe to use exclusively for F1, F2, and F3.

I think you need to understand the concepts but the actual transliterated Arabic word will be given a brief explanation of the English version in the exam question. This is based on the (admittedly few) exam questions on Islamic finance I’ve seen at F9 and P4.

I believe for CBE the written portion will be typed – which could be a benefit for candidates who type quickly and accurately! Though I wonder if the marking will make allowances for the fact that people tend to type more quickly than they can write longhand.

If you are registered for them all it is alright as far as I know – I sat F4 before doing F2 as CBE (but it was theoretically in the same session). Did this work out for you?

Don’t worry about it for now; but you’ll be sure to remember if you sit F6 again (hopefully not!) or do P6 in the future!

I think P4 is a must and P5 is probably the least valued of the exams. By this I don’t mean that employers even care which exams you’ve sat, but the knowledge you gain in P4 is likely to come up and reflect well on you, whereas I doubt you’ll gain many ‘points’ by reciting one of the models in P5.

P4 and one of P6 and P7 would be my recommendation.

This site is the only site I’ve found which briefly compares all possible combinations of the optional papers, could be helpful for you: https://acca-studying.blogspot.co.uk/2014/02/acca-optional-papers-best-combinations.html

Sathjyot: I disagree with your assessment that senior management can sit at the top and be lazy. Sure, they are allowed to, but in the end they are still accountable to their own bosses and if that’s not the case, then their shareholders/the board. Fact of the matter is senior managers usually are hard workers (though perhaps their compensation is excessive). And they are intelligent and experienced enough that you wouldn’t want them doing intern work.

One would expect that with the move to multiple choice-heavy exams that results could be released sooner anyway, even without the move to 4 exam sittings per year. However I wouldn’t count on the ACCA to release some results earlier than others so I’d expect it will stick to being two months after the exam sittings until there is another update.

From my recollection of FAB/F1, two weeks should be enough if you are not working as well. If you are working, it will be a bit more difficult but also possible. Just study hard and make sure to try the mock multiple choice exam on the ACCA website a couple of days before the exam to see where you stand (if you pass that, you should pass the exam).

Thankfully, with FAB it is unlikely that you will have to worry about running out of time so exam technique is not as crucial as for later exams.
