April 22, 2013 at 4:02 pm #123275when you get 1.1153846, press ln and you will get 0.1092
remember BSOP model for d1 is ln(Pa/Pe …….
April 21, 2013 at 5:41 pm #123125Yup it had been removed
but the greeks will be examinable
April 18, 2013 at 11:46 am #122792For growth model, it require retention ratio, b that can be derived from cashflow statement. The free cashflow to equity before reinvestment is defined as operating cashflow less interest and tax
FCFE before reinvestment = 210 + 1,5 – 4.1 = 207.4
g = b x re
b = Reinvestment – Capital expenditure / FCFE before reinvestment = 120 / 207.4 = 0.58
r = Ke = 10.9%
Hence g = 10.9% X 0.58 = 6.322%
Hope it helps.
April 11, 2013 at 6:52 pm #122194My answer for call option is 52.8 cent as well as put option is 15.3 cent.
April 10, 2013 at 10:12 am #122095for this topic, i doubt the examiner will test us on theoretical aspect. it is likely on how you calculate the VaR and how you understand this topic.
for 95% confidence level, you are expected to explain what is happening to 95% and 5% respectively.
April 7, 2013 at 4:30 pm #121845my lecturer from Kaplan comment that Portfolio theory is not examinable. Hurray.
islamic finance may be tested on section A talking about source of finance and its benefits and limitation.
April 7, 2013 at 4:27 pm #121844the result will be 0.1092.
firstly you divide 2.9 by 2.6 and press log in your scientific calculator.
Make sure your d1 and d2 should be round up to 2 decimal place and use normal distribution to find N(d1) and N(d2) and round these figures to 4 decimal place.
hope it helps.
April 7, 2013 at 4:18 pm #121841yup you got it right…
March 21, 2013 at 5:57 pm #120289Hi
I think 1.645 is referring to 95%
To get value, first split 98% to 50% and 48% and you need to read through the distribution table and you will see 0·4798 0·4803 under 2.0 with 0.05 and 0.06. Hence the estimated value for 98% is actually 2.055.
For this paper, just remember the value derived from VaR, valuation method etc is always estimated, hence it is good to state the assumption that the figures from blah blah is estimated.
any forumer, do correct me if i am wrong.
March 5, 2013 at 5:13 am #119234Dear all.
it is confirmed that the portfolio theory 2 asset formula had been removed. you look at the recent formulas in P4.
March 5, 2013 at 5:10 am #119233i still think attending the class is best as the lecture notes and the questions will be covered in class.
Not easy to self study with those study text, i am not saying they are not good. just that studying text require lot of determination and motivation.

– In your lecture ‘Treasury function’ is removed from P4 and is now assumed knowledge for F9.Exam structure changes:
Section A – one compulsory question 50 marks

Esther from Kaplan actually comment next round should be ok. Only the section b will increase to 25 each…
November 28, 2012 at 4:03 am #108717i had overan the question 1 in 1.5 hours… not enough time to do rest the questions.
the jun paper look weird and difficult, but in actual fact, it is reasonable paper.
time allocation is more important.
you mean type 1 or 2 acquisition for question 1.
November 27, 2012 at 4:11 am #108831you are required to calculate the delta hedge on how you do riskless portfolio…
