For anyone who asked about link theory and e-business, please see in Counting down Sep results thread. Link theory and e-business hints were discussed a lot there but only finalists can try.
October 16, 2017 at 2:52 pm #411901Hi Usama,
I was in the same situation that I have failed P7 several times before passing this Sep sitting. I completely understand your feeling because I’ve been always attempted almost 100% of the questions but still couldn’t gain a pass and the marks were even gradually lower. I think of some points that helped me passing P7 this time:
– Only answer what the questions are asking by identifying key words like “describe”, “define”, “criticize”, etc. Each verb will have a different way of answering. I think the revision kit helps a lot in identifying how to answer in each situation.
– Defining the “evidence” is different with defining the “audit procedures” for example. In previous sittings, I wrote a lot but not answer correctly what they’re asking.
– Practice hand-writing: You know P7 exams are really time-pressured one. I’m a very low hand-writer and could only write down roughly 75% of what I was able to think of. Before the exam, I tried to practice writing as much as I can that I’ve never done in previous sitting.
– Allocate the time appropriately based on the allocated mark in questions: The revision kit guides how to calculate the number of minutes by taking allocated mark times 1.8. I looked at the clock many times during the exam just to be sure that I was not overusing the allocated time for any question/part. When the allocated time is over, I just left it as it is and run to the next question/ part. You can leave some rows blank to come back later if you still have time.
If the question is 10 marks so it likely that you have to write at least 5 bullet points to gain the mark so try to allocate time equally to each point.
– Have the clear structure for your answer and try to get the professional marks of 4 marks by using the right format in your answer.
Previous sitting I didn’t use the bullet point because I thought it doesn’t look professionally. However, this sitting I used the bullet point where possible to address separate point clearly. I think it doesn’t matter that you use the bullet point. This may not work for everyone but it did work for me. Hope that you find something useful for your next sitting. Good luck!
October 16, 2017 at 8:18 am #411703Passed with 57% at 3rd attempt and so happy that I’m now affiliate. The link theory and e-business seem to be correct. I can access the link theory and have contact email as members@…. I didn’t think that the link theory is realizable but the e-business is.
Hope everyone who failed this session will succeed in Dec.

Also, there is an message in red as below in down on the welcome page.“Students should note that, in order to maintain confidentiality of examination results, ACCA’s eBusiness website will be available for viewing/amending limited personal details only, until after the results have been distributed. You will therefore be unable to make payments by credit or debit card on-line until after the results have been distributed.”
So there’s difference between the E-business welcome page of who contact email as student@ and member@. I see contact email as member@ and the other information as below:
“Currently we hold the following e-mail address for you – —————–
If this is not correct please click here.
Welcome to ACCA’s e-business site.
This will allow you to see the key details of your database record as held by ACCA.
You may also update your address, amend details of the business sector in which you work,
change the networks or societies in which you are enrolled (UK/Ireland members only) and
pay ACCA fees and subscriptions by credit or debit card. You can also make a donation to ACCA’s Benevolent Fund by credit or debit card. If you would
like more information about making donations to the Benevolent Fund please visit its website
by clicking here.If you have any problems using this website or any general membership enquiries
please contact ACCA Connect on 44 (0)141 582 2000
or members@accaglobal.com(These words are in red) Your name will be included in the passed finalists list, when you are eligible. If you do not wish for your name to be included, please check the box below and click ‘save’.
I would like my name to be excluded from the passed finalists list.Any changes made by a member, affiliate or firm to their record will not be taken as notification to ACCA of any matters which would render a member, affiliate or firm liable to disciplinary action. Members, affiliates or firms are under an obligation to bring to the attention of the Secretary, in writing, any facts or matters indicating that the member, affiliate or firm may have become liable to disciplinary action. Refer to bye-law 8 for further details.”

What is mean by link theory?
ANd how it’s work?
And how much it accurately link with result?
And what is e business and
how member@accaglobal.com
Shows pass ?Some believe access to the link theory (https://portal.accaglobal.com/portal/page/portal/ACCA_PORTAL_PAGES/ACCA_STUDENTS#) and the business site (https://www.acca-business.org/pls/ecommerce/elopl001.p_login) show contact email as members@accaglobal.com are signs of a pass for finalists based on before and after comparison.
But this’s just a theory.
October 12, 2017 at 2:27 pm #410567Many people can access the link theory and see members@ on business page. Still it’s just the theory.
October 12, 2017 at 1:14 pm #410551Guys. Thanks a lot. I got a new passcode and can log in now.
The contact email on business site homepage is members@accaglobal.com although I haven’t completed PER. I have completed the Approved employer form proving that I have passed the 36 months period and sent to ACCA but not seen it’s updated in MyACCA page.
October 12, 2017 at 12:58 pm #410547Now I can access the business site but when I enter my ACCA number and passcode, it shows the following even with this number and passcode I’m able to login other ACCA site. Not sure why.
“The registration number and passcode you entered are not a valid combination.
Please try again.”October 12, 2017 at 12:44 pm #410544I’m in Germany. I’ve tried the link theory millions time before and got the error message but now I can log in with my details on a white page.
However, I can’t log in the business site you provided, it can’t be reached. Hopefully I’ll pass because this time is my 3rd time sitting the final paper P7.
Good luck to all!
September 29, 2017 at 3:28 pm #409003Thanks!!! It’s interesting. I’m a finalist 😀
September 29, 2017 at 11:21 am #408982What is the link theory you’re talking about 😀
June 8, 2017 at 4:16 pm #391866It’s available on ACCA site: https://www.accaglobal.com/ng/en/student/exam-support-resources/professional-exams-study-resources/pass-rates-professional-exams.html.
I don’t think that there’s such a limitation on the number of passed candidates.
