Yes even i didnt take advertising expenses, in throughput we need to take only factory cost per hour in dinominator i dont think advertising is a part of factory cost and for sales quantity variance i think the answer is 2500k i dont remember exactly first i calculated with actual contribution then i changed my answer by using Budgeted contribution,,, i dont remember what answer i got for each case

I calculated revenue and contribution for both menus with 50% of total capacity, as they mentioned in question that customers are split equally between 2 menus

pgargaro wrote:Yeah I only took 40 too, I missed that at first so had to go back and redo it ???? but I think (my memory is hazy now) I did 40 for the three days it was at 100% capacity and 70% for the other four, and then for calculating how much they spent I just split those numbers in half, so for the full occupancy days i did (20*however much set menu food cost) + (20*however much a la carte cost) and the same for the drinks.

I did the same but i think we need to add $2 for existing variable cost….. From your msg i understood that you multipled $2 to existing cost.

pgargaro wrote:On the second point with the Faros restaurant q (the financial viability), I concluded that it wasn’t viable because the restaurant was making a loss rather than a profit. I can’t remember how many marks it was worth but I know that my proforma was really basic, I just had total sales with workings for the extra variable costs, the increased fixed costs and then the profit/loss. Would be interested to hear how anyone else approached it ?

I also suggested not to proceed with it i got profit but it is less than what they would get if they open for 5 days and did you take half capacity or full capacity in question they said after flood restaurant is running on half capacity with only 40 customers or something i took half capacity not sure if im right on it

I think if gross profit margin is 65% then variable cost will be 100-65 that is 35% of sales…that is how i did it

I took 15000 as opening balance equity and calculated the rest of question, i was wrong.

And just on NCI for disposal do we have to take the NCI value as at disposal date or the NCI at aqusition, because in question they have given profit figures of scooter, for 2 years then after 2 years 20% of that profit figures will be added back to NCI right? Have you guys done that adjustment or did i just over adjusted it?

@jovitha885 for govt grand question i think the answer is,

    dr other income 56,000
    Cr deferred income 56,000

as we need to show only 4000 in other income, so we need to reduce 56k from other income and increase that in deferred income.

BPP, even i didnt come across it,, its just my guess as in accordance to ifrs 9 financial instruments. And i find so many questions in this exam which are not in BPP, i thought BPP alone is enough to crack the exam and im confident with my preparation however, the exam was a disaster.

I find so many concepts new, i struggled to answer revenue questions in section B as well and very much confused over Ratio analysis question i literally change my answer 4 times for the analysis couldnt able to come to any conclusion.
