From a very young age my ambition was to work in accounting. I did not have a degree so I did the CAT complete self study it took me four years to complete as i was not working in an accounting environment. This i completed in 2007 and was transferred to the second level ACCA. From then to now I have struggled to pass exams. Only clearing F4, F6 and F8. I did F7 six times and got between 46 and 49. I did F9 last September and got 46. I am 40 years old and have only worked in accounts receivables processing cheques and invoices and accounts payables. Should I quit acca.

From my experience as soon as you start to read the acca paper there is no time to think you have to know and you only get that by practicing as much pass papers as possible

September 9, 2017 at 3:24 am #406931I too sat the F9 paper today and although i think i did not do too well. I believe ACCA is not being fair regarding having the ACCA past papers on the website. Other Accounting designations have their past papers on their websites but you have to be a registered student to have access to them. Putting up specimen papers has been going on for too long. The Subscription fee and exam registration cost are way to costly. I understand that it is a professional designation. However in my opinion the students are not given alot of help.
August 30, 2017 at 12:22 pm #404367almost 40 still in level 2 of acca and have only worked as an accounts payables clerk. nothing much to fill of per file. I too have tried applying elsewhere to get the experience so that I can fill out the per requierements but without success. I completed the CAT qualification in 2008. Went on to do ACCA but due to personal family matters I had to take a break to keep my sanity. Now I feel I have wasted my time . Not getting younger. Don’t know what to do would seriously like some advice.
